theres an emulator for ps3 games you can run on pc if you have one. doesnt have to be strong. any decent pc with like a 1060 can run any ps3 game on that emulator. i forgot the name otherwise id tell you the name
im not even exaggerating when i say nier automatah is one of my favorite games of all time. no game made me feel emotional and literally question my own humanity and my own existance as much as this game. this game spoke to me as the player as myself, not as a npc controlled by a player. this game made me question myself whether im a good person or a bad person based on my actions.. IN REAL LIFE NOT IN THE GAME. no game made me feel like this. it is really a masterpiece i wish everyone would give it a try so i can talk to them about it all day long lol

Dunno if its a hot take I perfer Drakengard 1 in story AND gameplay mostly because the framerate is stable Zeros annoying tryhard edgelord lines were grating Caim at least stayed quiet and the flying sections in Drakengard 1 are the best gameplay in any of the drakengard games.
I personally prefere the dynamic of a dad trying to save his daughter but I think the dialogue fit a young boy waaay better and the time skip is way more impactfull as he goes from child to adult also I just visually prefere his design
I really like the older protagonist.. He comes across as far more badass.. I have both versions of the game so I’m a little torn on which one to see through to the end.. Ps3 is definitely a little less polished but not enough to be a dealbreaker imo I’m like going back & forth between both to see the differences & it’s driving me crazy!!

Drakengard 3 is my favorite of the series personally, although I'm sure it's a matter of personal taste as to whether you'd like it. The Drakengard series is much darker and weirder series than Nier is, and it's not for everyone, but if you into dark stories, I'd recommend it. Drakengard 1 especially carries this tone, and does so throughout the entirety of its runtime. This along with its disharmonious and repetitive music, I think it can be irritating, maybe even overwhelming for some people. Also, the gameplay is terrible. If you can bear 10-20 hours of mindless slashing, then Godspeed, but personally, I'd just watch the endings on RUclips. In contrast, Drakengard 3 has a comedic tone, albeit still dark, but only as an undertone to its bizarre comedy; almost like it's a parody of the first Drakengard. It's a dream game for someone like myself with a twisted sense of humor. The frame rate and camera (which has a mind of its own) might take away from the gameplay depend on how particular you are about those kinds of things. But, I'd say the best way to judge the game is to watch the first few segments of the game on RUclips, and if you're interested, or the comedy lands, then I'd say give it a shot.

Replicant is a remaster/semi-remake of the PS3 version of Nier Replicant. Nier was the western version of the game that was only on the xbox 360. That's why a lot of the dialogue doesn't make as much sense for the father/daughter thing. It's because it was made to be a brother/sister.
The gameplay of D1 is indeed very dated, though as far as "excuses" go, I think Yoko Taro's aim was to make the attacks in D1 feel more "weighted" and "grounded" (at least when it comes to the physical combat part), though that's just my pov on this... which is kind of fair to be honest, I mean think about it Caim is just a regular human... well... up to the point he makes a pact with angelus that is... Nowe however has no excuse... considering he's a uhmmm Human, Goddess seal? and Dragon hybrid afterall... but yeah let's just skip that topic... Zero... well she's a goddess, so it kind of goes without question she can do all kinds of weird -ish... she can slice without resitance, she can go intoner berserk mode, yada yada yada... Didn't play any of the Nier's other than Automata, but I can clearly see the improvement in gameplay when compared to D1... And well as for Automata, sure it has it's flaws, but it's by leaps and bounds better in gameplay, even though it's still wonky sometimes... All in all D1 has a special place in my heart... I just miss the dragon gameplay... I want to slice and dice, whilst also having the option to burn everything and everyone alive!

It is like with From Software games, good and masterpieces on their own department but not my cup of tea. I am waiting for something new, on the vein of Replicant and Automata I think they are not at the best they can offer, on the music department is supreme already but not sure about the two weapons, they do not have defense, there are more so many reasons for preffering one weapon over other, and you cannot travel everywhere really there are a lot of things that can be improved, many things are underwhelming on Automata, I think he can try to put them all in one big from beginning to end story and it could be better.

Definitely a hot take. I played 3 directly after 1 and it was incredibly refreshing due to the gameplay being even remotely fun.
