    Hi,
I've just started playing golf and i bought an inesis 100 series driver with a regular shaft and 14 degree pitch for £60 brand new. My scores have tumbled mainly due to being more consistent on longer holes from the tee. I realise there are those who will turn their noses up at this, but my game is improving and maybe if my driving starts to hold me back I may upgrade. But top of the list for me is the club you've just reviewed. As a casual, recreational player cost is important and great performance for lower cost is relevant.
So good review and I hope some golfers out there take the plunge with the driver and may be pleasantly surprised
    Thanks for posting this review

    1. That stealth/shaft combo is really working out for you. 2. The Inesis would perform great for a lot of players esp 20+ handicap. Fairway finder more important than length to me.

I'm currently gaming their "3 wood HL 500" in stiff (should be x-stiff really if properly fitted) and enjoying it very much despite playing off a 7 and a bit... I might gain a few yards carry and a slightly better sound from a "professionally fitted" big brand club, but the price difference is more than offsetting that (and I don't really need more distance, even if I'd never say no to a few more yards). I also play the inesis balls (Tour 900 for proper competition play, Distance 100, about 8 quids a dozen, in the winter), wear their shoes and socks... and their "resistance" glove, very cheap and very resistant, I probably use 3 of them a year, despite playing about 3 times a week...

Great that you do these tests with an open mind Andy. For irregularly playing high handicappers on a budget they are great. I bought my daughters each an Inesis half set and they have worked great (even surprised their instructor). For me retired, playing 3-4 times per week, loving the process of fitting, practice, finding small gains I have justfied the cost of my Mizuno’s and Ping Driver/woods/hybrids! Footnote: I have bought alot of Decathlon stuff and have been impressed.

Appreciate the review as always. Some people just can't see spending $500-$600 on a driver and it's easy to sacrifice a few features when you spend $300-$400 less. Others have to have the top of the line. To each his own. As for me. I brag about saving money!

Andy, I bought the Inesis 500 irons back in October 2020, although they come with NS Pro 950 reg flex shafts , I cannot fault them.
I have found them very forgiving but great feel too, and as regards distance? On an equal with Maverick Max irons .
6 iron = 190 yards every time. 15 yards less every club to PW at 130 Yards PW
wear is fine no bronzing yet and used 2-3 times weekly.

The shaft options for a club make the biggest difference I think . I tried all the new driver releases went with TM Sim 2 because of the stock shaft which suited me best . If Calloway had the same stock shaft that could have been my choice. I am sure the difference in club heads is less significant. So any clubs off the shelf will suffer a little with the shafts unless your lucky and the one option really works for you . But when your learning the game before your swing has taken shape then these value clubs are a great option. Also if your playing 6 times a year again why pay 3 times the price for a TM etc. My custom fit irons were great when I was off 27 now the shafts my be too light for me off 18, so they are going high and left more .
I think reviews need to concentrate more on shaft options ( stock) but that needs multiple testers ( different swing speeds) so the viewer can work out which might be best for them .
Thanks Andy really love your course reviews ……

Totally agree Andy, but will not appeal to badge snobs.
I have played a full bag of Inesis 500s that's irons driver, hybrid, putter and balls plus bag for a full season. Conclusion best clubs since my old G10s
They perform well sound and feel good
    They also wear well.
You may have gathered by now I am sold on them
Looking forward to seeing the 900 driver when it arrives.
    Stay safe and thanks

Excellent as always. My thoughts are there’s not such a great deal of difference between top manufacturers and some of the new guys on the block. Generally we are paying for name and a slight improvement in performance. But for us “average” golfers, it’s probably of little significance. We just don’t look as cool with an off brand in the bag! Cheers

Ordered a Stealth driver last week after a great quality fitting. But it is pricey. If I was starting golf or not playing much, £149 for a driver that might not perform as well as my Stealth but still performs decently, is a very good deal

  • @starks1974

    Great perspective Andy!
I think this is priced for the beginner golfer and per the performance they will get decent numbers. Then they can pay more for better & consistent performance which Stealth & the other big name drivers are designed to to.

Shocked that someone hasn't been ever to Decathlon. I'm absolutely sure it's the #1 here. If you ever go camping in Spain you'll see 99 out of 100 tents being from Decathlon.
Personally, I use their Soft 500 balls. Cheap and I can't really tell the difference at my level.

Andy great video. Like the lesser known brand content. You mentioned the elements shaft was not a good fit for you being 5F3. From other videos that is the same weight and flex as your Proforce V2 HL shaft. Wouldn’t they be pretty comparable ? I think the extra loft in the Inesis being 12* is likely the bigger factor

Great review . I've just looked up the shaft in the inesis driver ...its over £200 if you buy it on its own!! How can they sell this club for such a cheap price? In Terms of performance...its as good as a lot of clubs at twice the price . Its only snob value that puts golfers from buying it.

Driver numbers are a real eye-opener Andy - I can see a lot of people being happy enough with the Inesis performance at that price level. Decathlon is never going to really market them aggressively like Callaway, TaylorMade, Titleist though - a lot of people don't ever go to Decathlon either. I was working in Shanghai and looked at lots of knock-off clubs in markets there - the castings always seemed close to the real thing but the shafts were probably low quality.

Good stuff.....lot's of good equipment out there that is priced reasonably. Also, newer renditions of drivers & irons, rarely provide much improvement. If you have quality clubs, stick with them, and learn to hit the center of the club face with more regularity.

Great vid Andy, I think this shows the importance of fitting. For an extra £50 can get a PXG 0211 and a free full fitting experience with a PXG expert which from my experience is very thorough and well worth the extra money, some shafts do cost a little extra but worth it imo.

Hi Andy. I think cheap clubs can be ideal for some golfers. My concern is some (maybe not these) are useless, which then results in the beginner losing faith in their own ability to master golf and give up. I tend to advise people starting out to buy a proven second hand driver or set of clubs. Friend of mine just bought a Taylormade 2017 M2 for £120, and is getting on well with it. What are your thoughts?

  • @andewlea3772
    @andewlea3772 2 года назад

Definitely great fitting and ideal set up in your stealth driver . With the cheaper brands I personally think they would choose averages of mid to high handicapper and build a fairly decent set of clubs. Without the resources or money the big companies spend the technology upgraded parts shafts they are good 0roducts to allow players to get out playing golf. WITH the likes of golf clubs for cash and golf bidders with there array of decent second hand gear if they could introduce fitting so you may find a head or make that's more y9ur game but not in your spec think this would make a great difference

To me, all those numbers are in the way. You found the middle with that cheap driver. That’s the main thing everyone should be looking for. Too much testosterone affecting what some think they need to do with a driver. Too many looking at distance only. Me, I am 61 and would much rather be short, and down the middle, than long and I can’t find my ball. I think that Inesis(sp?) would be great for MOST average golfers. To me, that extra 20 yards does not equal $300. That’s just my opinion. But basically for me, where does the ball end up, is all I need to know. The rest of the numbers are a wash. Put a stiff shaft and you will probably get back half of the 20 yards you lost with that. Plus 12 degrees is a tad much for a driver, but.... that was the standard loft of a persimmon driver back when I started playing.
Great video, and yet another less expensive brand to take a look at.
