I have seen on the Snap-On forums that you have upgraded the Verus 325. Can you give us more information... which products did you use? SSD drive, memory, Wireless card, any tricks or problems? Any thoughts on newer software? I just found out about Snap-On no longer supporting this $10K piece of equipment. I am pissed because my dealer was supposed to upgrade the software last year I asked several times. So now I am stuck with 15.4 I want to get it at least up to 17.2... hopefully higher. I can't believe they wont even sell me the outdated software. This will be the last Snap-On scanner I buy.
You might still can buy 17.2 off of eBay but they come up very rarely for sale. If you upgrade the operating system on the VERUS and reinstall Diagnostic suite, you will only be able to install the version your had before the upgrade. If you're interested in a newer operating system, go here to install Windows 7. Follow my directions EXACTLY. ruclips.net/video/6rzdzN8GW4g/видео.html To upgrade the memory, look for 2GB DDR2 200pin laptop memory for your VERUS. I put in a 256GB Samsung 850Pro SSD but you can also use a 128GB SSD too. Thanks for the information... I did find your video for upgrading the OS... I will try that. Any ideas on the software? My Snap-On guy is offering me a Verus Pro since i can't upgrade this one... I can't believe I can't even purchase the old software. Snap-On should send out a warning in their sales fliers when a major piece of equipment is going to be sunset...
Snap On could easily allow the older VERUS to use 17.4 if they wanted too. They probably aren't selling the newer scan tools because the older tools can do exactly the same thing as the new ones does...at a slightly slower pace. They just want you to buy new hardware...that's all. That's a business for ya and I can't blame them.
Funny thing on the old Verus I noticed that the software says copyright 2018... so they have updated something on their without my permission and now having issues with it... its the reason I was pursuing the software upgrade. The old machine will not be connected to the internet again.
Ok bro so what card you used , and any problems installing it ?
