  • Insane HSR Engineering, How China High Speed Rail Pick up Passengers WITHOUT STOPPING, Future HSR
Imagine a world where trains run continuously, picking up passengers without ever having to waste time stopping and starting at individual stations.
This is how the slowest train, the Metupalayam Ooty Nilgiri, at India that runs as slow as 6 mph does it. At that speed, you can almost run alongside and catch up at any time and jump off and back on whenever you want.
But is it possible that we can do something similar for the high speed Rail?
This would mean a much shorter overall commute time and, without the constant stop-and-go, that may cut down significantly on fuel costs for train operators, which maybe would translate to lower fares for all?

The first example (rooftop) seems smartest to me and safer.

The pod will not support terminuses as all depots and maintenance centers will be in the Terminus Area within 1-2 miles/1-3/4km

or, the train can just slow down at sidings and go on a loop to go other direction and speed up.
