This is an excellent review of the operation of this device. I just received mine from Amazon and was using it to inspect an old stylus which I’ve used on many records over the last almost 4 years. The light was way too bright and I didn’t know how to adjust or disable it but you pointed that out in your video. It answered the most important question I had about its usefulness. I should get much cleaner images of my old stylus now and really see what 4 years of record play does. It actually still looks pretty good from the initial image I was able to attain! It’s amazing how long records and a stylus can last with proper care! Thank you for your time and care in making this review!
This video is old but i bought a 3 in 1eletroscope, different model, but my phone doesn't recognize it. I downloaded the apps it told me to and my phone doesn't do anything. Any ideas?
Does the Snap button works? Because mine doesn't work. I don't whether that's because I did not download the apps and just use the Photobooth apps that comes with my Mac. Button I use the photobooth button.
Sometimes the sensor is 640, but then they "enlarge" it (resize it) to provide a 1920 image, so that they can say that the resolution is higher..... But as we all know, this means nothing.
I can't get the device to pair with Bluetooth. I have the app installed on my android phone, the Bluetooth sees the device, but when I try to pair it says "an app is needed to use this device" I'm confused
I bought a more expensive one, all of $50 or so.. that works wirelessly with my ipad, and made a little wooden holder so I could place it against walls and windows and keep the camera steady and focused while I videoed insects. The images on this one were really sharp and crisp, and because you can angle the camera you can get the insects from front on, instead of the usual and less interesting view from above. The only pitfall was the camera wouldn't work with the windows 10 camera, and I was faced with contacting China to get it to work that way....nope...but was saved by the free ipad app that worked fine using wireless.
i ve read that with a magnification of 400x one can see onion cells but doenst seem to be the case with mine, which claims 1600x. Perhaps I ve got something wrong
Onion cells can be seen with a far lower magnification, as onion cells are huge. I think that there is an issue with the setup. If you use the USB microscope, try to shile light through the onion skin. Or the onion is prepared too thick.
If you remove the lens (easy to do), you could project the image onto the sensor. Theoretically possible, but might not produce the best results. Better to use a webcam, which has a bigger sensor.
WON'T WORK ON MOST ANDROIDS!!! In fact most people are complaining about this exact same model lately. I just bought the exact same one, and sending it back. Also deleted ALL OF THE APPS I had to download, including Microsoft account, trying to get it to work.
It might be cool to mod one of those things to remove the IR filter to see heat, then see through some parts of a PCB. Maybe even having an array of them with software (e.g. GIMP script-fu and blender) stitching together all the footage of a PCB to clone it.
This can not be said so easily. It depends how far away you hold it from the specimen and also on how large you make it on the screen. It can not be compared with "conventional" microscopes.

Bought one of these a while ago. Saw videos of Jar ecosystems on youtube and decided to try it out myself and used the scope on it. Was surprised by what i could see. here is a video clip of paramecium swimming against a current i think the heat of the light was creating. ruclips.net/video/Gb_7mccIJw8/видео.html id have to say this little scope really doesnt do any better than 40x magnification, but its good enough to see microbes. i was going to save for a motic microscope but after using the little scope with my jars of pond and river water, i figured 500 dollar scope would be good enough to start with. Waiting on a amscope b490b to ship but the pictures and video ive seen from it are great. Cant wait to start looking at whats in my jars on a slide. I figure the little usb scope will be useful for if i want to be specific on what to suck up with a micro pipette!
Hey! Nice video. I'm collecting information about low-cost microscopes. I need to develop a system capable of analyzing microscope images using AI to decide how to proceed. I'm just starting out. Basically, I'm considering the option of developing my own Android app that runs the original app in the background, integrating the microscope's functionalities into a larger project. In the first instance, I don't need it to be super precise, and in fact, I only need to take a few screenshots. That's why these types of low-cost products are great for me. Super nerd 🤓. Could you provide me with the link to the app or something that allows me to find more technical information about the original app? Any brand, model, web-page, manufacturer, etc ... anything is helpful. Greetings from Argentina!
Thanks for the video. Good except... you might want to try not using the "Yeah" in your narration. You were very good at covering the content, please take as a positive suggestion for a more polished narration.

I bought it from Magic Zoom (USA) at a magnified price - €50

Did you try to dissemble and try to adapt this scope to a light scope?
Why no focus buton on this? Is there any technical difficulty that prohibits adding a focus knob?
Is zoom and focus same?

Anyone know why these things have on pack claims of 1920 x 1080p resolution and can only get 640 x 240p resolution in practice?

Stick with it too.

I got one with wifi, pretty slick to look at the stone a bit closer and handy dandy mobile. 3 hours of minimum light use, i am o.k. with it.
I carry it every day in my bag, the way that can be used with the smartphone is amazing!
Anyway thanks for tips us, you are the best!
How do you get it to work? I've charged it over night still have no lights. My android phone won't pick it up I have a S10
I bought a bresser digital usb microscope instead of this and am now kicking myself because I cannot do anything like this with the bresser.
To be honest I have it. It is eh. It does not focus on anything past its 40x rating. I tried with coins and everything is so blurry.
fantastic tool. You can do microscopy direktly on excursions in nature. For example looking for micro gold nuggets in the sand of a river ect
Can it be fitted to a light microscope?

Thank you for the tip what app we should use to start the camera on the phone! I appreciate it.
I need the software included. Or at least the name of the software.
Windows 10 is able to recognize the camera right away. Many Android apps also do.

Hi What app can be used for iphone? Thanks
Did you ever find out how to use with an iPhone or an iOS system?
I’d like to know about the iPhone app also.

Thank you very much sir! This video was very helpful to me!😁
Which Windows driver did you use for it?
No separate driver needed. can be used directly by camera program. UVC driver is already installed in windows.
Can you stitch images with this microscope?
Manually lol. so no.
I just received mine in the mail . Can u show video on how to use the microscope on a LG smart TV?
can if you mirror your phone to the tv
Please do a review on Olympus DSX 1000
Please🙏
what app do i need to. get software
can you share the driver software
Mine works great for looking at the shallow-sea fossils migrating out of my yard.
Is one able to view cells with this microscope?
no its not
Foldscope please.
I wanna know about the uh.. yeah...that's it! It's like you're keeping on the edge :D
Hi
What is the real magnification power?
This can not be said so easily. It depends how far away you hold it from the specimen and also on how large you make it on the screen. It can not be compared with "conventional" microscopes.
That might explain some of the outrageous magnification. Big screen , big magnification!.
OMG i am British its 7 pound so in US dollars its 9.56 {i checked on dollar to pound} this is because pounds have more value then dollars.
Great Work!
I used to have a USB microscope about 7 years ago. Been meaning to get another. : )
Can it view bacteria?
No. Magnification and resolution are by far not enough. You need a "real" microscope to view bacteria.
