@@ninjalectualx It does, especially in rural areas. Village people don't have a lot of fun places to go so football can be vital for communities. By the way, that's why in Russia non-league matches are often called "village football" (деревенский футбол).

Yet in all these videos, all the people in the stadium are watching the game, not just socializing and hanging out. The games are for football fans, I don't believe you that locals who don't care about football are showing up and getting some quasisocial benefit from it.
Why can't you just admit that football is only for football fans? Why do you need to build it into something it's not?

Yeah I agree. I grew up watching Australian non-league games in the 80s. There was a guy who dressed in a Hearts FC outfit with a thick Scottish accent. He would take down the goals after the game. I often stood next to a Serb Croat guy who would shout out stuff in that language.

Great video! It’s great to support your local side. I feel that you create a bonding with the players and meet other fans. Hope to see more of these videos. New subscriber, FYI.

Thanks very much! Oh 100%, I’m really keen to find some hidden gem non-league clubs this season, ones with a quirk or a good back story

This was a great watch. Loved the insight and your sense of humour is class. The ’nail’ bit was very Brent, but in the best way possible.

This reminds me a lot of similar leagues I watched in Australia in the 1980s. I grew up watching always standing up. The balls were much heavier then; sometimes an adult would leap in front of me to stop the ball and say "that would have knocked you out". One time I turned up with my dad to watch. The gardener was the only person there. He said "haven't you heard? We have been booted out of the league for not paying registration". That was 1983. Interesting you can buy food in your non league; we don't even offer that. Unless things have changed a lot since I watched!

I had a flashback to when my team wasn't in a national league. In Brazil, the system of divisions is different: we have four national leagues (Serie A, B, C, and D), but we also have regional federations with clubs that either compete in their own leagues or don't have leagues at all. In this particular championship, clubs without a national division compete for a spot to play in Serie D. Additionally, the regional federations have several divisions as well.
My team spent five years in a regional second division, playing on amateur fields. I remember one game where we arrived late, and my dad asked the assistant referee what the score was. Back then, the tickets were much cheaper, and the crowd was more entertaining, but now I’m happy to be in Serie B. We won both Serie D and Serie C, and now Serie B is coming soon!

You need your own show. Love your content and think it's more informative than some much more well-funded projects. I tune in from Miami fairly regularly. This edition was particularly adorable too ("silly country" and no dogs allowed).

That league feels much more authentic, with football players who are truly passionate about their teams, unlike the mercenaries often seen in the English Premier League or Spanish LaLiga, for example.
