I'd love to see your reaction to Eric's song Homeboy. If you watch the video for it in particular you can see the anger and pain on his face, makes me wonder if he's talking about someone he knows personally.

Eric Church is such an awesome songwriter, musician and singer. Love him to the max. My favorite out now.
My first time hearing Eric was his song and video Guys Like Me. He has a voice that is country but his lyrics can draw in people who aren’t in love with country music genre. As others have mentioned Homeboy is one to check out next, I would add Two Pink Lines funny song and video.
You can't go wrong with Eric Church! He puts on an amazing concert. Record year, stick that in your country song.

Although more than deserving as a songwriter, songs of the year and entertainer of the year, Eric will never be recognized by the County Music Academy’s. Eric does not follow rules and refuses to bow-down to the record industries politics.
Eric owns his own record label. But, his music is published through EMI. When EMI delayed the release of Church’s album “Desperate Man” because of the song “The Snake”, calling out all corrupt politicians, Church made it a point to perform the song live at the CMT Awards. Then, the video for “Desperate Man” is a masterpiece of Church smuggling his album…bootlegging it and releasing on his own.

I know you are a reactor, so you insert thoughts here and there, but sometimes you reactors fail by not listening to the song as a whole with no side thoughts to stop the song and comment...
he's trying to get over a lost love.. gonna drink, smoke, and break out that old rock and roll(also, along the same lines of using music to heal his soul over a lost love, check out his "Record Year".
