    I tell you what - when you watch Nathan do this, you realise what perfectionist he is - that i am sure is part of the reason he finds ‘client work’ demanding, as no one wants to pay for attention to detail - but they are willing to whine about if it they dont get it

    B&Q Diall range is a range from their sister company in France, Castorama, and it’s a made up brand name they chose to make it sound unique. Just wondering Why didn't you sound deaden insulate the floor? Cheers

    • @YTDTETV
      @YTDTETV  2 месяца назад

      Mmm good question so because the floor has thick would I feel that’s enough sound deadening. In my last van I did lay some vapour barrier bubble wrap still down before the wood but not this time. Thank you 👍

    Complete and utter perfection !! 👌🏾with the amount of work and effect going into these vans they will have to be long term keepers !! The build process on each video just keeps getting better and better…. Well done mate… you should be very proud of your builds. Like i keep saying this proper what you call “built, not bought” 👍🏾

      Hey scorcha sorry for the delay mate, thank you 🙏 I take a while doing the jobs on the van but I think about stuff in between so I don’t wish I’d done it differently after. I’m very proud of this and the caddy I put everything I know into them and really appreciate the kind words 🙏👍👍

    Great job Nathan it looks a love neat job bud . Ref your sliding door step ; you can buy a extra deep side step to fill the gap you got there instead of filling it with wood . You can also get a longer threshold plastic for the back that gos right up to the pillars . Keep up the good work bud . I am doing the polo light upgrade this weekend and a safari woo window upgrade behind the drive seat . So got to crack bud 😂😂👍🏽👍🏽I’m out

    • @YTDTETV
      @YTDTETV  6 месяцев назад

      Hey Chris thank you mate appreciate that, I never knew about the deeper step but have found one so will order it 👍 I spotted the longer thresholds last night to but both are another £100 for the pair so can wait till next week. Polo interior light is really good literally plugs straight in. When trying to push it up into position I stuck my fingers through the new hole I cut in the silly headlight cupboard to hold the headlight while pushing up so the headliner didn’t buckle and squash 👍

    Cracking job you did there Nathan and thank you for the video. I think your colour choice for the interior carpet and flooring was a wise one as the contemporary look matches the exterior 👍. Good to see James in the video too. Hope he's still enjoying his T4. Have a great weekend bud.

    Awesome like an awesome possum.great result. I remember doing mine. Stupidly did it in july and putting in the carpet was like wrestling with a really sticky hairy octopus. Its getting tired now after 8 yrs or so and needs a refresh.

      Thanks bud you can definitely put some under the floor but I feel that the wood dampens the sound loads so didn’t think it needed it but I guess it would only improve it more 👍👍

    Wow that looks amazing what a massive difference it makes putting some carpet in. She has gone from a shabby old T5 to a beautiful van, I bet you love the van nearly as much as the caddy. It’s nice to see all the stages as you have gone from the body work to the interior and all of it has been done to a high standard👍

      Hey bud thank you appreciate that 👍 8mm thickness I bought 6 lengths of 2.7 meter x3 40mm and x3 75mm. Literally used all of it, floor is nice and study.

    Perfectly explained, cleanly executed, possible repairs to the bodywork kept in mind, attention paid to the weight of the insulation.
    It takes a lot of preparation and thinking until your brain smokes to explain something in such detail.
    Excellent video, Nathan!

    Love it. A bit overboard on the application of sound deadening but hope you used heat proof spray contact glue otherwise in hot summers the roof and wall coverings will release and sag.

      Hey Steven it is a mammoth job and would be easy to have a break in between doing it, makes a massive difference when done, not only is it loads quieter to drive it literally feels more solid to drive. Hopefully the water is for ya to get out there and do it 👍 appreciate the comment thank you 🙏

    Good video Nathan! Just in time for me, but a tip, you don't need to use the sound deadening matting on the whole panel, you need 1 sheet per panel at best. The idea is to add a bit of weight to the panel, not to stop sound penetrating the panel from the outside. It just cost you alot of money for no extra benefit!

      Hey Clive thank you 👍 I’ve done a few vans now including a LWB transit so I’ve had abit of practice which always helps. I found that doing the whole van in stages seems to go well ie start with the sound deadening then work your way outwards.

    If my memory serves me well the caravelle side step is deeper/higher and fills the gap that is created by the raised ply floor if you want a more factory finish at the sliding door
