When I was Little. This right here was the greatest show on earth. I was obsessed with it, dragged my parents to see it every time we went to MGM.

I remember seeing this show when I went to Disney World in 2006. I was 9 at the time, which, back then, was considered too old to be watching preschool shows, but I didn't care because I still enjoyed them.
Looking back on this show, it perfectly encapsulates what Playhouse Disney was like at the time. Right down to having Allyce Beasley do the safety announcement before the show. They even start the show with the old Playhouse Disney song! I know for a fact that they stopped using it on the network at the time, but I recognized it because it was on one of my VHSes I had. And you can tell the writers of this were fans of the shows themselves, because the writing of each one is spot on.
My sister and I have missed this show since the very day it changed. I screamed when I saw this video and ran to her room to watch it. We sang, screamed, cried, and so much more while watching. Thank you for these sweet memories. You just stuck us together once more :)
I prefer this version to the one that's there now. "Bear in the Big Blue House" is my childhood!
Just sat and watched this with my kids! It brought back great memories, especially as Bear isnt even on UK tv anymore :-( My kids loved this show and refused to move until Bear had disappeared! Thanks as always for sharing! :-)

The show started when I was 7 and ended when I was 16. I'm 30 now. Dude, I feel so old. But I still love the show. I hope they'll bring it to Disney+ or put the complete series on Blu-ray. I want my little niece to see what show her mom and two aunties grew up on.

I actually saw this live when I was 7! Not this exact day, but this show!
Whenever I was young I was really scared of the characters at the park, but my mom got me a meet and greet with Bear, and he sniffed me and he showed me that he’s my friend, and ever since I have not been scared of the characters at Disney or anywhere else for that matter. Whoever was in the bear costume truly loves kids and it showed
Disney owns all of their properties including Disney Princess, Bear in the Big Blue House, Sofia the First, Phineas & Ferb, High School Musical, Hannah Montana, The Cheetah Girls and That's So Raven.

If my memory serves me correctly, they had a similar show at Disneyland around the same time that I got to go to; needless to say this brings up a lot of 5-year-old-me memories :')

There are only two segments I know of when it was called playhouse disney. Rollie Pollie Ollie is one of them. The other one is very popular in the segment where the characters race against a blue fighter jet

meganlafferty44 uh actually Disney Junior is turning to be good also alot of good shows that are CGI is upgrading bad news about that Jake and the Never land of pirates is very ending soon for sure that's the scary part but yeah I think Disney Junior route is still strong in UK and us and the Disney Junior is getting better shows fast so don't worry I saw what Disney Junior is going
There's some two other versions of Playhouse Disney - Live On Stage from 2001 to 2005 with Bear in the Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley, and The Book of Pooh and from 2008 to 2011 before they turn into Disney Junior with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and My Friends Tigger & Pooh.
There's one show that previously aired on Playhouse Disney and it comes for the first time ever in the mix of Disney Junior called: My Friends Tigger & Pooh on April 19, 2013.
This is the Playhouse Disney I grew up with. The new one is tolerable, with the exception of Nina Needs to Go!
MilkTheCouch Nina needs to go was so bad and until imagination movers tv show it became the best TV Show I misd some of them

Okay, am I wrong about this, but I think they used to let you pet the puppets and maybe take a picture with Bear? I could be totally wrong, but I just had the strongest memory of me petting Pip and Pop!
I love this, but I’m sad that the Rolie Polie Olie segment was removed and replaced by a JoJo's Circus segment.

I could’ve sworn Shadow was part of the bear in the big blue house scenes but I guess not. This show used to be one of my favs at MGM. Rewatching it, it’s actually really cool! With all the puppets and the giant bear.

ugh everyone's shatting on the new one and praising this one as if it's perfection. honestly I love both! the old shows I grew up with will always be wonderful. and the new disney junior shows personally I feel have more to them than the old ones. honestly I feel like people never give toddler shows a chance unless it's "omg nostalgia!!1!"

Thats not true actually they stopped it because disney felt it ran its course and wanted to focus on new shows for a new generation that MAY have been a factor but not the whole reason

It sounds like Luna's speaking voice is not Lynne Thigpin, who originally voiced Luna. It does however sound like her singing.
This show started in 2002, when she was still alive.

For some entire reason they shut down bear for good ever since jim henson give the muppets and bear in the big blue house to them they just put up 2 diffrent shows the playhouse disney one and the bear one he had his own show at mgm studios all i got to day DOES IT HURT TO PUT BEAR IN HIS OWN SHOW AGAIN!!! COME ON DISNEY! I BET LOTS OF PPL WANT TO MEAT HIM! YOUR NOT DOING ANY THING ABOUT IT! like even in the middle of playhouse disney they kicked him out and replaced him with mickey mouse club house! and other shows! and he was on the disney junior website before and he had his own disney junior logo!! like come on DISNEY!

TheKdTube The thing is, the crew was absolutely heartbroken over Lynne Thigpen's death. Even Tara Mooney (Shadow's voice actor) said in an interview "Our hearts weren't just in it anymore". She must have made a lot of friends while working on the show to have such an impact.

Like i would like one reason why they shut down bear. like ik that the actor that played luna and stuff died but still in the live show of bear in the big blue house they got a new actor for luna! you can't tell the difference! and they should keep the thing going. like teletubbies right it went off the tv now its coming back in 2014 or 2015 idk look it up. but BRING BACK BEAR! like could they not at least made an attraction at Disneys Hollywood studios? like Bear Live on stage? like would it hurt to dig out a bit of land and make the show? Like come on disney!
