For many people, it's both. Remote work has encouraged more people to want to live in regional areas to get away. The bonus was that it also happened to be more affordable. What are your thoughts?
@@wealthi.research In my opinion, this latest outbreak of Delta in NSW and Victoria has shown that ultimately no region or state of Australia can evade the coronavirus. People have moved to the regional areas because they were sick of being locked down, especially in Melbourne. If Australia opens up at 80% vaccinated, and people no longer fear being locked down, they may just go back to the areas that were popular before the pandemic started. I think some regions will continue to do well as some people are now able to work from home, but these regions will be limited to coastal areas or other areas with great natural beauty, preferably within reasonable commutes of the capital cities. I think the days of every region in Australia going up in value will soon be over.
@@marklenon2335 Agreed Mark, I think that people have made the move but there will be many who move back. Though even if they stay international migration will soon fill the holes in each city that was left behind.
Regional for affordability or for escape from COVID ¿
