This song is a contender for best post-waters Floyd song, right with High Hopes, and hell, it's up there in their entire catalogue. A super interesting cautionary tale about breakdown in communication as Gilmour and the female choir talk and fail to listen to each other, using Stephen Hawking's voice synthesizer and and a vocal box modulating Gimour's godly guitar. Treat yourself to the Pulse live version sometine to see how that works, it's wild!

As a Child of the 50’s, I was in my teens in the 70’s when the best music was meant to be experienced, not danced to.
I would put on my headphones and go on a trip, no drugs required.
There are keys and Buttons that only Pink Floyd knows how to use. Every single time, every single song….they invite you on a Journey. I’ve been Travelling with them for 40 years now.

Love your actions/reactions. I've been with PF since 1972, and have listened to everything, but one can only hear something for the first time ONCE. After the initial amazement, you can go back for more, picking up nuances and undertones you have probably missed. Watching you discover Floyd songs (that we have loved for decades) for the first time is damn near as good. Don't EVER change. Just be who you are....unique and compelling (and a shitload of fun to watch).

When this album came out, I had been waiting for a new PF for years.
This song was the first single and I was in literal tears of joy.
To this day, when I hear the synth voice of the late Stephen Hawking, I get shivers down my spine.
This came out in 94 and was their last studio album.
Actually there is one more Studio Album! All new tracks came out in 2014. "The Endless River" Look it up. Its incredible!

i love how you react, i love watching a virgin being baptized in the heavenly floyd realm, i am 61 yrs old, i was reacting the same way since 1973 when i heard the brand new(at that time) dark side of the moon, and all that followed, as it was released,,,back then their was no videos, no nothing, you jus waited,,,and waited,,,then waited some more , for the next album to release or a tour to be announced ,,,that was it,,, taping the songs onto cassette off of the radio trying to do the buttons at just the right moments and hoping the dj dont talk over the tunes,,,,, thats how i remember getting to know the floyd,,i got it in spurts,,in "real time" as it were,,, now days you all have the ENTIRE CATALOG to binge at will,,,but anyway,,,im enjoying gettint to watch you get yer freek on with the floyd,,,, makes me want to hand my pipe to you and go,,,"ear,,,,,ear man, yer hit," cough cough,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

and theatrically I've ever been to. If you love them like you say it will be the concert of a lifetime! They are currently on tour. As a matter of fact I'm driving 6 hours Aug 12th to see them again! The are just amazing!!!
True - I have seen them 6 (or 7?) times, phenomenal experience - it's the next best thing to a PF concert (was fortunate enough to see them in 1977, THE best concert of my life)

Pink Floyd was, IMHO, made to be consumed with gently-smouldering herbs. When I was 17 (1977) I bought their album 'Ummagumma' and the journey started.
This is what I feel like on the inside when I hear Pink Floyd. I love this album and I'm really looking forward to your Poles Apart reaction. Of all the amazing songs on The Division Bell Poles Apart is my fave. 💗 to you, my friend!
I just adore your reations!!! 66 yrs old, been listening to Floyd since my teens and they never get old. Saw the Division Bell (Pulse) tour in Cleveland, Ohio in 94. I was mesmerized and stayed that way for many days afterwards.

I love your reactions and the fact you just say what you think. I can tell you I understand a bit of what it is like to feel the music the way you do. To get totally consumed by the sound and feel like you are floating around in the multitude of layers. I am now 50 years old and just had my son diagnosed with ADHD and guess what? After all the research and learning what ADHD is it now explains exactly why I'm like I am. It was never a thing when I was a kid so I just had to deal with things the best I could. I will say it now makes me feel a lot better about the way I am now because it explains so much. I've listened to pink Floyd since the late 80's and it's been a journey. It's deep and meaningful. It hits your soul. I don't think you have done the track 'Hey You' from The Wall album. It's not a very long track but it certainly hits the spot for me. A suggested track for you and I'm sure you will get round to it at some point. Keep doing what you do 👍

This is one of my favorites on this album. When i was little, i called this the pink cd. The cd was pink and teal if i remember correctly. When they went on tour in the US, my dad pulled me out of school in 1st grade to go to San Diego to see them live. It's rare for someone my age to be able to say I saw Pink Floyd live.

At Pink Floyds1994 Pulse Concert they perform an incredible version of this song, and many other songs too as you well know. Pulse is a phenomenal performance from one of the greatest Rock band, (Progressive Rock), in the history of the world!

I started listening to PF at nine years old, I borrowed/stole Dark side from my older brother and have been a convert ever since. I am lucky enough to say I was there at the Puls concert Earls Court London 1994 on the night they were filming.. it was such an epic night. I ended up going four times during their London tour, plus on the second and last nights, they did a different set!!
