  • In this first episode of the podcast, we dive deep into the life and career of Brian Holt, a front-end engineering veteran and educator. We discuss everything from classroom antics and tattoos inspired by Baroque art, to early experiences with computing shaped by family influences. The conversation also delves into Brian launching React code at Reddit, shedding light on the complexities of career growth, work-life balance, and the ethical dilemma of "burnout culture" in tech. Whether you're interested in JavaScript frameworks, DevOps, or the human stories behind tech professionals, this episode offers a well-rounded exploration valuable to anyone in the field.

Brian has so many interesting things to say, I genuinly adore his workshops at FM, as he always has some background story to explain benefits/caveats of using something. And it's awesome how Marc is able to lead this discussion in a very naturall way. You can hear that they are frriends for quite some time, yet it's still great to listen for anyone else. Looking forward for next episodes! :)

It was a great start. As I could actually resonate to the touch points about a developer's journey and what lies ahead. This surely gives a new perspective to look at a career.

What a great way to start! An incredible story from a lazy kid to a “beast” of an engineer. It’s also cute to see you two starting of the episode a bit stiff and formal but gradually relaxing and showing off your true friendship. I got so many notes out this: coffee, beers, whiskey, books, sports and other gear engineers to follow! Finally, did Sarah Drasner say yes already? ;0) cheers guys!
