We appreciate your hard work ethic and the way you teach by doing. It took me a long time to realize that humans need to take breaks. Stopping relaxing and refocusing makes us more productive and generally less stressed. It also makes the quality of work much higher. Take more breaks Mr Bill you deserve them. Very cool to see a new garage in the works.. I'm sure everyone is like me and can't wait for each new video, but some weeks are just slower than others. No biggie, Just keep up what you are doing. It's worth the wait. Can not wait for a giveaway small block. Seeing that build and tuning will be awesome..

It would be so cool looking to paint the new shop in an American flag type design . It would look good in the background along with the SRC & Old man garage logos.
Wow, Thats going to be a good looking building. Inside and Out. Having EVERYTHING under one roof is going to be a HUGE advantage. And its DEFINITELY going to reduce a HUGE amount of stress on everyone. The heated floor are going to be FANTASTIC for filming for all involved. NOT having to deal with the background noise of fans or HVAC units running. The heated floors make the work area so comfortable. I suspect that your excitement will increase when the work actually starts. The rest of 2023 is going to be very fun to watch as this building gets put together. Sure, its going to have its stressful moment's along the way. But hey, Just remember this is going to be a HUGE improvement in the whole families lives. So what ever happens. In the end its going to well worth it.

That old school tractor of your Dad's that Jeremy had to go put away is a badass of a tractor and I bet it's your dad's favorite tractor too and he refuses to trade it in for a newer model and I bet he keeps it in the best condition he can possibly keep it in one because the parts are probably next to impossible to get so he probably baby's it as much as possible to try to make every part on the tractor last as long as possible and like I already said it's probably his favorite tractor that he owns so he takes care of it for that reason as well and if he keeps it up he'll have that thing living for another 100 years
We have the same thing going on at our house! I can probably vouch for just about everybody on this channel that we can wait it's all good! Can't wait to see what the old Nova runs with the 355 in it!
You better add at least 20ft to each side of that building now. I promise that when its done, it wont be big enough. "I should have" is all I ever hear from people that build a new shop, including myself. Make sure its insulated too.
Also, add a lean-to to the other side to park the race trailer under. 😉

Awesome news on new shop. I'll give you my 2 cents on heated floors in a garage. They are super nice,even nicer when you bring something in thats wet or snowy, the floor drys up quick. Now the down fall, when you put the door up to bring something in or out in the winter, it takes it a good while to warm back up in the shop.

Congrats on starting your new shop project. A word of friendly advice, build it as BIG as you can. We all find a way to fill them up. Look at it this way, the bigger the building, the less grass you have to mow..... Hope to see your nova running soon.

Yeah Bill I know the weather has really been sucking lately. One day up here in toledo we get 50-70 degrees and the next it's in the 30-40 degrees and raining, raining a lot. Haven't been able to mow my dandy lions yet because of how wet everything stays. But it sure looks like you guys down in Columbus must be getting a little bit better weather cause Vicki's flox are looking really great already in your videos. Congratulations on finally being able to get started on your new shop, and I'm glad things are going well with the whole family. Glad you're feeling better, would have liked to attend the Jax Wax show but as usual it's my weekend to work. Good luck on your grudge races, and yall stay safe. Have a great weekend.

Floor heat is the most efficient way to go for sure.
Avoid those infrared tube heaters.
They are good in shops with tall ceilings, but they still cook your brain if you work under them.
Heat rises run with that.

That is Awesome Bill. My only bit of advice is go as big of a shop as you possibly can. When I got my shop which is 40x46 3bay it seemed huge like plenty, well just a few short yrs later and Im out of space moving stuff around and reconfiguring the setup to make room for stuff. Take care guys

Bill, You will LOVE that heated floor. I used a 10 gallon water heater in a 30x26 shop. Your friend in PEX tubing. David A.
Heated concrete floor is the only way to go.. you will be shocked at how warm it will keep a building, even a drafty one.. laying on warm concrete is alot better in the cold and any moisture will dry quickly. It's definitely a wise decision that you won't regret. I helped a buddy install the tubing before we poured the floor in a 1800s barn. Didn't have much for insulation besides foam board and it heated that big old barn well..
Hey, you probably already thought of it, but make sure you know where any lifts will be located if you are going with a heated floor. Heated floor is great, but if you have to drill into it, you have to know where the lines are. Congratulations on the new building!

The heated floors are so nice. Only downfall I’ve seen is when the big doors are opened for to long it takes a long time to get back up to temp

🇺🇸🦅🏁 I’m getting ready to build a 60x120 Barndominium on a property in northern Alabama. Shop and home under one roof. It looks a lot like your building with a huge porch on one side and a shed to park trailers under on the other side. I’m sick of Indiana weather and winters. I will have like 6 Drag Strips within a hour or two from the house. They race all year down south weather permitting. Plus I’m right on the Tennessee River. Northern Alabama is one of the most beautiful and cheapest places to live. And outside the city limits you don’t even need a building permit. You own the land you build whatever you like, no going to planning and zoning to ask if you can build. Nobody bothers you. People are super friendly and food is amazing. It’s like Southeastern Indiana was growing up back in the 70’s and 80’s, before all the Buckeyes moved in from Cincinnati and built big fancy homes and we went from a agricultural county to a residential county. Our taxes got so high I had to sell my family farm. The Rural South is the place for me.

It will be awesome to see you guys get everything under one roof. Floor heat works great unless you are constantly opening garage doors and running stuff in and out. The recovery time is slow but will probably work great for you and your climate . I've seen a lot of farm shops up here that they heat the floor with a hot water heater instead of a boiler I guess it's cheaper ??? If it works up here in the north it would definitely work for you
