Hi Maria! You might want to check out "Zoobooks" for lil bb Mila. It was basically a magazine for kids that my grandparents used to get me (like when WE were her age 🙃) that has wildlife photos of animals and is age-appropriate and informative! The company has been bought & sold and the reviews online look like the current Zoobooks are maybe not as good as the old stuff, but there's tons of people selling good condition old versions of the magazines on ebay. If you wanted to look into it. It's basically like a National Geographic for kids. Idk...I just remember it being so, so cool and it was the first thing I thought of when you mentioned non-cartoon stuff.

As far as I know Turkeys are in general very calm, slow, gentle and sensitive animals! I've learned that from the Barn Sanctuary (located in Michigan).

I love love love that you’re teaching Mila to be bilingual as well. As a first generation Russian American I think it’s so important for her to learn her culture!
All you really need to do is speak enough Russian and the teaching does itself. Language acquisition is basically a miracle to our understanding at this point.
Yes! My mom speaks German but she never spoke it at home so I never learned it. It’s so much harder to learn when you’re older!
@@genekwagmyrsingh9433 Yes but only speaking it does not always does the trick. It works at a young age but, later kids tend to focus more on the language they use day to day. Also, there is the question of cultural teaching
@@louisianaseiba4268 true, but just the fact of learning more than one language at a young age has been shown to improve cognitive ability over all. I have a friend who is studying this right now at McGill university here in Montreal, a city with many bilingual or multilingual families. They may not remember the language well if they do not continue to hear/speak it into their older years, but they will be better with languages generally and even have an advantage in other areas. It's really interesting.
@@genekwagmyrsingh9433 apparently a key part of learning a language the way children do, purely by listening, is figuring out where the breaks between words are, and then of course what the words mean and how they fit together. But if you have ever learned a language at school and then tried to follow a rapid speech by a native speaker in an everyday context, you'll know how hard it can be to pick out individual words. So when my baby is staring intently at me speaking, I know he may not understand what I'm saying (yet) but he is figuring out where the words stop and start. Pretty cool.

I wasnt raised to fear or kill bugs--those instincts just came naturally to me unfortunately.

Yay!! I’ll be honest, these lowfi videos are more relaxing in my opinion. The higher-fi stuff often gives me more tingles, but low-fi is so personal and comforting. Truly relaxing when I’m stressed or overwhelmed. Peace and a happy spring to you, Maria!! 🌸🌼🌻🌷

I feel the same way! Both typea of videos are great in their own way, but sometimes I just crave a simple lo-fi video.
I just have to say, one of my favorite things about this channel is not only Maria herself, but her subscribers. The vibes here are always so positive & welcoming. This community truly is incredible & is a true testament to Maria herself & the loving, gentle energy she emits (even through a screen) 💗

I have SO many turkeys in my neighborhood, they surround parked cars often. I think it’s because they see their reflection in the car and go “ok who is this other turkey and why haven’t we met” 😂

When I grow up I want to be Maria. I watch these videos and I can't help but think that maria is the quintessential woman. She's so well rounded, accomplished, elegant and feminine.
I raised turkeys for 2 years in high school as a farm project. They're chaotic and they're pure bastards but they're easy to scare away. Unlike geese, if you see a goose evacuate immediately.

There's something extremely "natural" about this video, almost reminds me of hanging out with people on a hot summer evening and dozing off while hearing them speak... so good!
(Commenting again so hopefully Maria sees it) Amazon has a sticker book of real life sea creatures called “Discovery Real Life Sticker Book: Ocean” for $6.99! It has a similar format, pages that allow the kids to place the stickers wherever they want. It also shows real life coral reefs, tide pools etc.. I think it’s really neat! 💙

OMG this was the most chaotic ASMR video I've ever experienced. Show-and-tell type videos with books, magazines, and those kinds of sounds are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! I was so relaxed and in tingle heaven when here comes the turkey party which made me CRY LAUGHING and was just so crazy to watch, and then the rest of it is again the most relaxing thing ever.
