I tried making oat milk pushing the Milk button, which involved heating. The results were pretty strange. The oat milk was a slimy consistency. Now I think just pushing the Mill button 3 times is better. The consistency will be much more favorable.
+Caitlin Brooks Yes... definitely the mill button which is cold. At first I was confused too, seemed the milk button would be the way to go. Only use that for making soy milk. Thanks for the comment.
No. They are OAT GROATS. Oat groats are steamed and sent through a roller to create rolled oats. Find them in the bulk section of Natural Grocer or other natural or health food store.
soyabella is so yesterday. time for you to upgrade to a filter-less soy milk machine. The Joyoung or Soya Joy are my two favorites. I think the Soya Joy is geared more for an English audience as the Joyoung has a button on their machine that I'm not familiar with. And besides, the Soya Joy makes the most amount of plant milk of all the soy milk makers. So imagine how much milk you can make in the Soya Joy? The SoyaJoy G4 makes 1.7 litres and there's no icky filter to clean out.
The oat groats you show are buckwheat groats, not raw groats, I live in Scotland, UK and the fields around me grow oat groats, you have buckwheat here. Thank you for the rest of the info, however. Katy Thomspon Home Economist & Professional Plant-based chef
Those oat groats looked an awful lot like buckwheat. :-) Thanks for the recipe! Off to try it...
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.

Thank you for this video and for your wise advices. You are really positive! I will try to find a Soyabella in Norway.
Good luck in finding this in Norway. I'd love to visit Norway sometime... so beautiful.
I made the mistake of using the hot setting. I got really thick/slimy oat milk. I’ll try this tomorrow.
Great video
I love making soy milk but need to make different types that don't curdle to use in cooking. thx
I bought oat groats and they are whole, not flattened. Should I soak them first?
How long would it take to make noise when grinding? Is it loud and noisy?
can you use rolled oats instead?
Hi from Italy,
does it works with rolled oat, too?
Hi, how do you find oat groats? Can I find steel cut oats instead?
Is the oatmilk slimy when it is made in the Soyabella?
Good video. Thanks
Thanks! Glad you found it useful.
For a how long time you work the oat in the machine?
The soyabella will turn off automatically. I press start 3 times per instructions. Enjoy!
I just purchased the soyabella machine. Do you do this in the soy/nut filter or the rice filter?
I use the nut filter. Soy milk is done warm. Enjoy!
Can you use coconut flour instead? is it a substitute?
NO.
Can you use rolled or steel cut oats?

Can I soak barley and make barley milk? Or do you ever add barley to your soy milk?
good question... I haven't tried that.
I thought whole oats were just the oat grain ? not something that has been 'altered' ??

You should throw away the soaking water and add fresh
