And the very best it's that it's not only the music and the emotion they transmit with their voices but also the stage presence, dance and expressions! It's so good to see I want to see them doing a musical or acting, every single one of them individually and stronger as a group!!
I'm so sooooo grateful to their company for not rushing their debut, for thinking the concept through, for producing epic songs, for pulling it off perfectly, for giving them extended promotions now... This is first time in my life I enjoyed a whole album of an artist, there was literally not a single mediocre song. And their performances are cherry on the top... Jongho hitting those high notes live, San changing into monster on stage.... I wonder where they were hiding those gems before Mixnine... They are all so talented, and Hongjoong shines so bright... I love his voice, vibe and how he can play with it. It also perfectly intertwines with Mingi`s deep voice. Can't wait for what they have in store in the future. They have way much more to show. I'm so happy you liked ATEEZ because I see potential in them. I see them being one of the best groups on kpop, they debuted with a concept and kept this concept in a way that you listen to them and say "this is ATEEZ". They're very well produced group, it seems KQ carefully picked everything, from vocal to rapper, dancer to album's songs. I usually don't like all the songs in a album (or mini album), but I liked both EPs, I hope ATEEZ becomes successful and recognizable for being a awesome group.
The fun fact is I know Ateez from EDEN, the main producer of all Ateez songs.. who also worked with BTOB song like missing you, pd101 rumour, yuju, wannaone.. but I think his works for Ateez are masterpiece😂😂
About "Desire", I love that it lures you in with that teasing intro, builds repeatedly and more intensely each time without a drop. It perfectly encapsulates the concept of human desire, and how greedy and selfish we are. We get a little taste, but we always want more. This song is somehow simultaneously satisfactory but leaves the listener with a feeling of longing at the end. I think the producer knew exactly what they were doing when they made this song. It's a masterpiece.
The interesting fact : I was like : omg but 45min is too long. But I stayed for 2 reasons : - You are really interesting, I like the way you react to their songs - And because I can't be annoyed to listen for the 39101 times to their album

The reason I like Ateez's concept so much is because they start out with Ep.1 already being pirates, but then they backtrack to Ep.2, which is what was before they became pirates. You can especially tell in Desire, when they say "I just cannot be myself", so they all decide to be pirates so that they can be themselves.
Thank you for what you said about Yeosang's singing (27:36) having a lot of emotional gravity. You stated why I love his voice and why he needs way more singing lines -- his vocal color is so emotive and mature, he sings it like he really feels it and makes the listener feel it too.

ATEEZ is AMAZING and have so much POTENTIAL!! They are a group that just radiates TALENT! I loved every single song on their albums. I hope they become really SUCCESSFUL and get appreciated and recognised for their music and performance! ATEEZ FIGHTING!!

How you reacted to Promise is exactly how I did too! ATEEZ really takes you on a journey through every song. Not just the lyrics, but the production and transitions between the verses, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, to outro. Literally every part is a piece of a journey. And you feel SO many different things when their music is blasting. Either really hype or super content and peaceful. And it's GRANDIOSE like you said! There's just something EPIC and BAR-SETTING about ATEEZ. I have never, never felt this way about any music artist--American, Korean, or otherwise. I'm so proud to be an ATINY.
it's a shame you didn't listen to the transition between intro: long journey and pirate king because it was one of my favorite things that happened in 2018

I think what makes promise have such a good drop is the fact that a lot of the other songs I the albums have fake drops and false drops so that when the drop happens in promise, its just that much sore satisfying
