I personally have the Alfa HaLow product. I just wish it could do active POE. I installed a black waterproof box where I put the POE injector in. I have an outdoor POE switch for everything else.
I love the tech but still there are very few products on the market. I was looking for a WiFi Halow smartphone (in addition to it's 2.4/5GHz antenna) but no such thing has been created as of yet.
from what i have been reading you can get above 300 mbit on halow with a 3x3 or 4x4 spatial stream connection. i'm hoping more gear comes out for 802.11ah soon. mesh halow gear would be amazing!
Indeed, there should be a lot of future scope. Not sure about the max practical speeds but we're hoping to get enough reach and speeds that could make this a very compelling technology
Wifi Halow could be an Important successor to Lorawan specifically given higher bandwidth and use if standard TCP/IP stack. I don't think Halow will do much In the space of directional/point to point communication needs. This segment is already saturated with ample amount of tech, what remains to be seen is if Halow can offer Omni directional Wifi coverage to devices in areas with common obstructions like buildings or trees. I haven't found credible trials clearly showing Halow bandwidth/client side power usage/range while using Omni directional antennas. If you can do a trial like this It would massively help.
I find Lora and halo very interesting. I want to create a city wide network to monitor my customers hvacr Equiptment. This would allow me to report issues and dispatch a tech to resolve the issue.
Theoretically speaking , HaLow wifi could be built-in into mesh Wi-Fi system (eg: as a front backhaul between units) given the low speed maybe 2.4 / 5.0ghz n/AC bands (backwards compatible)
Halow advantage is versatility of working great indoors and outdoors without switching between 2.4 or 5.8 and the long range without bulky directional antenna just a regular omni stick like a ham radio. Hope manufacturers will focus on this 802.11ah/s use case scenarios and develop higher power add mimo for more thoroughput and more watt power for extended range like 6 to 7 miles. And make it man portable with battery like a tactical manet radio in a ruggedized tactical form factor.
Yes, indeed. I have just done a "Dev Kit" antenna design and getting the PCB's made. Once they are ready and working well I'll test them out on RUclips.
@@RFShop hey srry to reply late. I'm from south Africa, my isp it telkom . it says " b222s disconnected from the internet check WAN settings or contact your isp "
@@touchthibhothashi1734 seems that you need to setup something to make it work on Telkom's network. Might be as simple as the APN ( which is indeed something that your isp (in this case Telkom)) would be able to help you with.

I think things will improve as the technology is adopted more

Yes, still a lot that needs to happen. We're going to give it a big push this coming summer

We will keep trying to learn more...hoping to get something going this summer

Yes, I look forward to see where this brings us. 2024 might be a very good year for IoT

Hoping there's much more HaLow to come :)

Time will tell
I want to see the results of a range test with those 11 dBi antennas at each end.

i have a problem with a router a bought online Huawei LTE TDD B222s-40 it disconnected from the internet. can you please assist me connect it
Sorry, but I would need a lot more information to be able to assist. Where are you located, what network and also did you have any connection at all ?

@@RFShop yep i try that, i contact Telkom's now i have APN but it still doesn't connect, do you mind drop your email so i can show you screenshot
