David teaching football, Nigel making stuff in his garage in England, plus the constant changes in drummers ... now I'm convinced that Spinal Tap was based on the first Jeff Beck Group. Their English accents are really convincing, but it's their mastering the essence of Englishness that's so impressive. Derek Smalls travelling around in his dad's Maestro van. Perfect.
Yeah, Derek Smalls going back to Nilford to reevaluate his prospects…so his father takes him out on his “Sani Phone”route to go door to door to clean and sanitize phones. Then Derek realizes that everyone can go to the nearest store to buy paper towels and blue cleaning solution to sanitize their own phones. FUNNY, AND THE FACT THEY ALL DID THIS ON THE FLY, NO WRITTEN SCRIPTS.
Won free tickets to see Spinal Tap from some goofy AM radio station back in the late 70's or early 80's while I was living in Cincinnati. They were on a triple bill with another English band call Scum of the Earth and a touring puppet show. The puppets were awesome.
I'm just so happy for all the lads that everything worked out quite lovely for everyone involved in the making of this wonderful piece... I must say I am so happy for Marty and his practical office and the fact that Lt. Hookstratten wasn't injured by the bullet that missed his head by a matter of an inch and the fact he wasn't hurt by the firebomb that was placed underneath his automobile.
Love those three...all they've done especially as The Folksmen....but Reiner really does a great job acting in these and I really just noticed that.....and wanted to share lol
Hard to tell with these places. One of my childhood homes is like that. I looked it up on Google Street View, and it's hard to tell one from another after forty years.
The one bit thats really missing for me, is Nigel talking about his idea for passports for pets. Genius ahead of his time... But it is on the original spinal tap 2, which is mainly the concert at the Albert Hall with all this cut in between. 😂😂😁👍
I missed them when they played at the Air Force Academy in the 90's, which is only slightly worse than missing the last 2 Rash shows in Denver. ☆ 🇬🇧🇺🇸🎸🇨🇦
Spinal Tap is one of the greatest comedy movies of all time. I'm not one of those who actually thought it was a genuine documentary about a real band. However, as a Brit, I was astounded when I eventually found out that these were American actors. The Brit accents are so authentic, and I've watched a lot of American movies where far more esteemed actors than these guys make a mess of a Brit accent. One of the worst ever is probably Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, although I'm not sure how serious that was meant to be. Kevin Costner in Robin Hood though, wtf is that all about? The best Scottish accents I've heard from an American actor (I'm from Scotland) would be Mike Myers, in So I Married An Axe Murderer and the Shrek movies. And before anyone calls me out, I know Mike is Canadian, but he's still an American, as Canada is part of North America. Just like I'm Scottish, but I'm also British as Scotland is part of Great Britain.
AGREED! Inverse true too as I'm fasinated with Brit and Aussie ability to mimic OUR accents (3rd generation Los Angelino Here) so easily/fluidly. .. also agree SOME of our actors shouldn't even try... WTF was Kevin doin as Robin of Locksley anyway?!? 🤣
I’ve found the street they are standing on at the beginning. Area has undergone redevelopment but happy to say David and Nigel’s houses are still standing. I wonder if The Thamesmen played their first gigs at the pub?
Amazed it's still there. The old pub buildings have character (although some of them were dives during their heyday). A lot of that terraced housing has been flattened too. I've mixed feelings about that since they got replaced by worse in some cases.
If SaniFone would come to where I am, I'd gladly get my mobile phone cleaned by them. Of course, I might have moved by the time they get there. So, like, they'd be where I was and not where I am now. Or am then. Like. If you follow me.
i seriously saw that on Wikipedia once, about his baron title, and thought it was a fake news joke kind of thing. I’m still not sure if his bio is real or fake 😂😂😂
This film, despite the jokes, does an unironically beautiful portrayal of life long friendship.
Spinal Tap for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame !!!
they would be the best musicians ever inducted into it
@@ignorecorporatenews, after Rush, and Foo Fighters, as soon as they are eligible.

No..too many undeserving acts are already in. Better them than Joan Jett, I suppose.
Why do these Halls of Fame even exist? Least rock n roll thing ever.
"Kramer vs. Kramer.... versus Godzilla." How the hell can anyone say this with a straight face. Hat's off to Rob Reiner on his acting.
