I've been told that it's actually NKP 759's Nathan 6 Chime. Which, honestly, it still could be. The SP 6 chime (and the ATSF 6 chime) is a Nathan copy, so it's entirely possible that it could be either of them, really. Also, it can't ne a Rizzoli reproduction, as they didn't get into making full size whistles until well after Polar Express came out. Remember, the movie came out in 2004. It's pretty old at this point.
I do see your point. And I actually didn't think Rizzoli was that young. Sounds to me like this vid is gonna be an ongoing project cause of all the theories about that whistle.
@@Stormysteamie MD Whistles would be a more accurate guess, as they were around back in '04 from what I remember. Also, if you want help with the research, I'd be glad to help in any way I can!
So, McCloud 18 wasn't operated with SP 6 Chime before production of Polar Express or possible during movie came out according to Milwaukee Road James from the comments section in FFP Trainz Whistles and Horns Pack 10 video. From my opinion, I don't know
You nearly had me there at the Rick Roll bit. Also, where was it recorded? Not SCL3618’s model train video, the sound that was used in the decoder of that model train. My possible guesses might be either SP 2472, McCloud River 18 or 19, or probably some other locomotive.
I love very much the Polar Express. My favorite scene from the movie is the scene where the heater radiator starts to shake, smoking and making noises like a train's whistle. I love very much this scene.
@@TrainsCatsOtherStories It's not exactly the model you're looking for, rather it's the sound board. It's a Soundtraxx Econami sound package. The whistle is a regular SP flat top 6 chime. As far as which engine it came from "reality-wise" I'm fairly confident it was from McCloud River 18. It sounds close enough to the sound clip used in the movie. Or at least close enough to my personal satisfaction.
@@TrainsCatsOtherStories ruclips.net/video/OCsbmmZdIG0/видео.htmlsi=b4473frXm7PkCd-i I think this is it. Again, it's the closest match I can get at the moment.
@@Stormysteamie Also is it flat top or step top? I'm looking on the soundcloud of the guys who make that sound module and there's a whistle on there that sounds like the one in the video but they call it a Southern Pacific Step Top 6-Chime (1)

Just looked up those engines. I'm going to say McCloud River 18.
If you say so.
Please tell me you can make this whistle for trains, I think I have a locomotive that would fit this whistle.
Sorry for the late reply, but I'm sure you already know that I made this whistle. @@T-54MountainProductions.
I even told myself there would be a rickroll in the video, and I was right..
