Inside Umakanth Thumrugoti's Human Anatomy Class

This monthly in-person class runs every morning from Monday through Friday.⁠

Instructor Umakanth Thumrugoti structures his class with a goal not to copy but to understand the subject well enough so eventually you can draw from your imagination. The class works with two nude models in a variety of poses, both short and long. All skill levels are welcome.⁠

Thumrugoti is an artist, writer and filmmaker who started his career at Walt Disney Feature Animation - working on films such as Lion King, Pocahontas, and Fantasia 2000, among others. While at Disney, he worked in various capacities - Technical Director, Lighting Supervisor, Sequence Supervisor, Visual Development Artist and finally as a Co-Art Director.⁠

His books include "Figure It Out: A Thin Book on Figure Drawing & Broken Parts - Pies R Squared," a graphic novel. His film "7 Days In Slow-Motion" was called "A Bright and Cheerful comedy" by Roger Ebert and won many awards.⁠
