Eddie O is a great man, on and off the ice, except for one thing...he went to Brother Rice HS. Go Mount Carmel! All the best wishes to you. Keep fighting.
Eddie O, you are such a legend and a fighter! Thank you so much for playing and being a hall of famer with the Hawks and for honoring people with cancer! You will always be a true legend for the Blackhawks!
Gotta love Eddie O. One of my all time favorite players that I enjoyed watching didn't matter what team he played for. A real class act and I would love to meet him one day.
Edzo I've just been told I have cancer 2 weeks ago I have the same type you had, but it has spread to my liver. You are my inspiration and I hope I can beat it like you did. I remember you as a player you were one of my favorite hawks and I just want this behind me. Thank you for being there, and God bless you you... Rich
Still remember meeting Eddie when he was a member of the 1984 Olympic team when they came to Billings, Montana. He got into a fight with Jock Callander during the game. Not sure who won that fight, but I am glad Eddie won the fight against cancer!
Was he good? Well, he played for the USA Olympic team as a 16 yr old, was the highest drafted player from the State of Illinois ever, and played over 1000 NHL games, so yeah, he was pretty darn good!
Yeah, he was. I played against him in midget hockey and he was so good that they already knew then he'd be on the next Olympic team and then go straight to the NHL. In fact, If I recall correctly, that's why he skipped the main pathway to the NHL at the time, Major Junior "A" Canadian hockey. He played Junior "B" only because it maintained his amateur status for the '84 Olympics when he was only 15 and not old enough yet to accept an NCAA scholarship. Yeah, he was good.
Eddie-O is such an awesome guy & a great hockey🏒player! I grew up a Toronto Maple🍁Leafs Fan & enjoyed Eddie’s presence in T.O. & when he played Jr.B for the “OHA” Stratford Cullitons as a 15-16yr old bright eyed kid. Stratford Cullitons are a top notch “Junior B” franchise who have seen the likes of Mark Bell-Boyd Devereux-Chris Pronger-Tim Taylor & so many more 👍 I know Eddie-O enjoyed his time in Stratford & he was well taken care of because he was nervous & home sick at such a young age to have moved away from home to pursue his dream & not only is Eddie from Chicago & moving far away to some other American 🇺🇸 city/town to pursue his dream but instead took a chance on moving to Canada 🇨🇦 which would have been a big adjustment for Eddie but as most know if you want to take a shot at making it to the big show in the “NHL” then Canada is the place to do it with “Jr.B” & “Major Junior A” in the “OHL” if you come to “Ontario,Canada” & out west in the “CHL” 🥅 🏒
Class act, big heart! We're
very proud & honored to have
you as a member of the BLACKHAWKS family!
I wonder how good Eddie would be in a beer league now.
