that's cool, but now he has to review 20 games in 8 minutes!
How do people have time. I haven’t even gotten to Steller Blade or Unicorn Overlord. I’ll let you know what i think about Zelda Echos of Wisdom in 2027 😭
I still haven't played xenoblade 3....
Their entire job is to play games lol
@@hammerkirby5243Yeah, and even they are strugling with so many games
Oh man, that’s more than 7!
But less than 9 😪
It’s the square root of 64…N64?
He will review games in 20 minuites. I will review Jon in 20 seconds
He good boi
Jon, that is a lovely sweater.
ya, Jon's sweater screams AUTUMN! 🍂🍁🍂
19:38 - Jon accidently spills the beans that he has a Switch 2 in his possession that he won't tell us about! 😏
Plucky Squire was such a bummer. Not a bad game at all but its just incredibly safe for such a stylistically creative game. I expected it to wow me in its design but its simply just cute. Basic and cute, which is fine for a child but as someone who advocates games everyone can enjoy it just didn't have that substance that you'd fine in a Zelda game. I'd rather give a child Zelda than Plucky Squire.
Some of those shape levels are genuinely difficult but otherwise yes, Astrobot is fairly easy. But it never feels mindless, every moment is interesting and charming but maybe it’s not the expressive platformer Jon is looking for.
Omg thank God I'm not the only one who found the casket at the end of that cave without doing the main quest and ended up very confused.
If Emio finale is comparable to Ace Attorney T&T or another VNs, i must absolutely play it (but before i want to play the two originals if there will be some sort of eshop deal)
Emio finale is the only high of the game. Everything up until that point is pretty meh imma be real.
@@Uncharted95 i'll consider that, i don't want to see anything to have my own opinion. In some games, the finale can repay my entire experience, but it's a rare thing for sure. I'm curious but i think i will play it on switch 2
You can play Emio without playing the others. Each FDC is it's own thing and you don't need to know the stories of the others to understand this one
Here’s a positive take:
I followed Jon here from NL, and I I’m happy to say: I’m glad I did. Another great video. Thank you, sir.
...I feel like Jon should've done the other video and have Daniel handle this one, but maybe they did this on purpose because that's what we were all expecting. lol
Grapple Dogs looks so cool! I picked up the first one a couple months ago without even realizing there would be a sequel
will vouch for ufo 50 that game has been a blast and its crazy that like 90% of the games are good fun
The Plucky Squire was my biggest gaming disappointment in years. Honestly shocked that Steve gave it an 8.5….
It was so bad! Completely overhyped. The creators paid for the fake buzz.
Very cool ideas at times but nothing was fleshed out enough to be engaging.
@@fat-gotenks I actually got the game because of his review, so Im kinda mad at Steve, I know it’s his opinion bit it felt a bit disingenuous lol
@@tountoes1677it happened to me whit his Nintendo Championship preview. At least I have a cool set of pins.
The slow down time mechanic was from crash 4
Just want to say that I really appreciate this video format! I probably wouldn’t have clicked on standalone reviews for some of these games (UFO 50, Hollow Body) but I’m glad I heard about them now!
As someone who has also been following the game for a while, I unfortunately have to agree about The Plucky Squire. I love its ideas and I think it deserves all the praise in the world for its Art Direction (frankly I think it should win The Game Award for it), but… tragically, that’s about it.
However, you wanted positivity, so all I’m going to say is, the way you talk about how Emio made you feel is almost exactly how I felt after watching Robot Dreams.
So, you know, watch Robot Dreams.
I’m currently out here trying to finish my third playthrough of FE Warriors: Three Hopes before the end of the first half of October. Then I’m gonna spend the rest of the month playing Emio, then after that play some other stuff until Brothership comes out.
A hot take can be positive too, I think, for example saying you find a game very good when most people say it sucks can be a nice but hot take.
I get your idea anyway, it's good to have some positive energy specially when it comes to things you do for fun, like gaming.
Thanks for sharing some less structured reviews. Let’s see a Dark Cloud 2 video!
The end of a hot take era 😞
All the Zelda amiibo lined up look great. I just remembered your roots Jon
I share that hot take. let's talk more about the positive things than the negative ones (not talking about toxic positivity here)
I'm loving echoes of wisdom but john i could listen to you talk all day long lol xxx
There's enough people spouting hot takes, i like your style as is :)
Good work!
I miss having time for video games so videos like these are inspiring lol
Jon is the best!! Love your Astrobot take. 🤣🤣🤣
Insanely hot take at the end. Can’t believe Jon said that.
Got my Emio on order , can't wait .
I really felt that flippin* in the intro
Jon rank those 8 games 1-8
No Visions of Mana?
Neat news!
Jon :)
I feel like Jon's opinion on The Plucky Squire seems to be the consensus amongst most players. Which is odd because so many previews and even reviews were so glowing, calling the game another indie darling, to the point I wonder if those reviewers did play the game more than an hour or two. There are TONS of bugs and glitches in all versions, and performance on the Switch is really, really bad. But even ignoring all that... the gameplay is just not that fun. It's very handhold-y, and combat is very dull. I don't understand why reviews were so positive when so many people seem disappointed with the final product, I wonder what happened.
This channel called it a masterpiece and said it was the greatest indie game of all time
@@trapez77no?
Hot take: Balan is a fun game if you think of it as a port from the PS1
No.
I like this hot take
Based take here.
I loved it, obviously is not a masterpiece but is not dogshit either.
Yea, Astrobot is too easy. I think the simplified movement is also disappointing.
Kudos to you if you can watch this guy for more than 2 minutes and don't fall asleep
Emio was one of the biggest disappointments of the year.
