Most people in Europe and other countries like Japan hate Rootbeer because it tastes like medicine to them. The reason for the medicinal comparison is most likely due to the fact that root beer was originally made from sassafras. In other countries, sassafras is often used in medicine.

Hi! I’m from Germany and have been following your content for a while now! So, a little fun fact to the Haribo Schlümpfe… They actually didn’t use to be sold in bags during my youth. You could only buy them at certain small grocery stores and candy shops back in the day ^^

I studied German for eight years - the reason Cam's pronunciation is not great is because his Spanish pronunciation is good (which is the opposite for me 😂) also every time y'all say die instead of the German pronunciation (emphasis on the second vowel - dee) I died a little inside

    • @gwenschillo1510

    • @random.3665

Its not that the pronunciation is on the second vowel, its that the german language pronounces "i" like the single letter "e" is pronounced in english.
And this is the case even if there is no second vowel after the "i". Its similar to how english pronounces the "i" in "Milk".
If it was simply being pronounced on the second vowel, it would sound indestinguishable from the single letter "D" in german.

The Haribo frogs are the best. I believe the green is peach gummy and the white part is a passionfruit foam gummy.

As soon as I saw the Haribo Konfekt, I knew you guys would hate it, because 1) I know what you think about black licorice 😂 and 2) even I am not a fan. And I love black licorice, but could do without this weird stuff around it. I prefer the Haribo Lakritz Schnecken. They are amazing and I would recommend them if the two of you wouldn't hate licorice so much. 😄And I also never really liked the consistency of those smurfs (they taste good, but are too sticky). And you had the veggie version, so I can imagine it's even worse.
Growing up my grandma always bought a mix of everything and the bag contained only two or three of those green and white frogs. I was ready to fight with my sister to get them. 😬Oh btw, the Haribo slogan is "Haribo macht Kinder froh und Erwachsene ebenso/Haribo makes children happy and adults as well". Very catchy. And "wir sagen Danke" means "we say thanks/thank you".
Himbeere = Raspberry, Waldmeister (my favorite) = Woodruff (I'm kinda surprised you liked it. I've seen many non Europeans not liking it when they never had it before.). Those are also our typical jello flavors (red and green).
When it comes to chocolate and things like that I feel like the hazelnut is a German staple. We have so many things with hazelnut in it and I love it.
Fun fact: Maoam is made by Haribo and Mamba by Storck, another German brand. The same brand, that makes Knoppers (and Werther's Original, Dickmann's and Nimm2, but I can't remember if you tried all of that already). And it seems to be a thing here to either like one or the other, not both. I on the other hand always liked both, depending on the flavor.
I don't have a favorite American candy. I can't even remember whether I ever tried one to be honest.

Never have I ever heard anyone say, "get off of Zi-trone and join me outside!" 🤣😂 Anyway, jokes aside: the Ahoi (Ahoy) is poured from the sachet directly into the mouth, and that gives your mouth a tingle and foams up... By far, my favorite candy bar was the Barnone. But before they changed it into a two mini bar pack. The original single bar was bomb. I would buy the whole box. Was discontinued in the 90s, so sad.

@@ameldekrom402 I wouldn't give eetpapier to anyone to try. It's so tasteless. I also personally don't count the druivensuiker as a candy.
But yeah, Hopjes are great! I would also say more different kinds of licorice.. but we know both don't like the taste of them 😅

Most of Germans dont drink the "AHOi Brause".... There is a much funnier way to take it.... shame to me - not for Cam sadly.
Austin may try this: do a shot of clear alcohol (maybe wodka) in a shot glas, put it in front of you. Then put one package of AHOI Brause completely in your mouth- dont swallow! And then get the shot into your mouth, shake your head to mix it - Done!!!!! It is such a fun , please try it

We don't often look where candy's from but we more often take American recipes and try to use them to make American foods or to just change our recipies a bit.
I suggest(if you're able) trying to make traditional foods(sweet or savory, you decide) from Bosnia
