Louise, Stay encouraged! My son is now in New York, living his dream. He too did some modeling and a couple of years ago, he graduated from New York film academy. I recall many times when, through our conversations, I knew he was struggling with being there and achieving his dreams. Today, he's an Emmy Award winning and independent young man; he's enjoying his life there in New York. I asked him once, what is his advice to others that have recently moved to NYC and trying to find their way; his reply, "sometime you have to encourage yourself". You took the biggest step, now, all you have to do is keep believing and pursuing your dreams....if you fall, get up, dust yourself off and keep going. From creating a blog/site, to being noticed & followed by people & brands, how to prepare for & get the first jobs, how to figure out what to charge when you start, choosing & working with an agency & how you know if you should or are ready to, the different types of jobs you do & what’s involved with each, which types are your favourites & why, how you did things when you started vs. how you would do things if you were starting now, things you need to learn how to do (photography, editing, administrative, bookkeeping, learning how to use software & social media platforms for your job, how you learn all this & keep up with changes, how you network, etc, etc, etc! So many excellent topics that would help us appreciate the work you do, the industry, and business in general. Also such a perfect time to delve into & share it all because you’re sort of starting over yourself in a way & so you can really understand & be very helpful to anyone starting out as an entrepreneur, their career, or even this industry. 👍👍👍😃. The comment on your last vlog from the guy saying that you spent too much decorating your apartment was a pile of 💩 he also said the Irish have a distorted view of moving to NY expecting it to be like what you see on the television. Another pile of shite. You more than any other blogger know more about the workload involved in moving to NY. You've been here before, you know the long hours and the sacrifices. Your home is your sanctuary especially after hard days. You also need a beautiful place to show PR outfits. Your apartment doubles as an office so of course you are going to decorate it. For a busy man that says he has to work long hours and gets no Christmas holidays.. he sure has a lot of time to watch your vlogs and pass judgement. Middle finger to these keyboard warriors. The influencer market is currently estimated at 8 billion annually and expected to grow to 15 billion by 2022. It is one of the most lucrative marketing strategies a company can use, as the reach with influencers providers a significantly higher ROI. Based on that, I think she’s got plenty of time to figure out career options.
