    I collect dolls but not reborn. Why is it that doll collecting is considered creepy but going out hunting and killing living creatures is normalized as a hobby or activity? If you enjoy your hobby and it brings you peace and happiness do what you love.

      I rather be called crazy being seen in public with a reborn doll (I am a collector myself) than be seen as a animal killer who gets a joy in killing an innoncent animal for food!

      And we also don't need to have any mental disorders to validate our hobby! Many of us are mentally-stable people who simply love dolls! 😇

      @@Zeldafan1ify I agree :) it a shame we live in a world where people thinks when a person gets past the age of 5 they class as 'too old' to own dolls >_< and yes I knew someone like that! I use to keep my toy dolls until I was like 16 I of course stopped playing with them when I turned 12, but wanted keep them for good memories I had and pass them down to future kids, but sadly the people who I thought was my friends told the people who bullied me in school and avoided me because they was emberssed to been seen with me....

    Although I don't collect reborn dolls, I really love to see them. They are a true work of art, and I can fully understand why they can help some people. What is the problem if some people get comfort from them ? They are not hurting anyone else. I think it is wonderful.

    I'm a reborn collector myself! I make videos all the time about them
    Besides mental health, they are also beneficial to those who are infertile but really want a baby (or child or just something they can use those maternal feelings on)
    They also help those who have LOST a child
    There are so many ways these reborns can help those who collect them
    Those who judge or who always say things like "it's not real" or "it's creepy" or (and I've had this said to me) "you need mental help"
    Those who have something to say just don't understand and when they don't understand something they'll say all sorts of judgy type stuff and often will blatantly refuse to see our side of things
    But that's ok, rock that reborn love anyway!

      Someone told me I needed mental help so I acted so shocked and asked how did they know and walked away cackling like a witch. Best laugh I've ever had. I was anxious about taking my babies out but now I love it. And I am taking both out into public for the first time on Wednesday so that will be interesting

    She's happy and living life. Who are we to judge her and how she's living. There's people out here abusing and killing their babies every day because they're not ready for the trials of childcare. I would say these dolls are a special gift. Please don't talk about adoption and fostering in place of these dolls. It's really disrespectful and I ha e known people who bond with their foster kids only to have them snatched away to be placed in a different home. What will happen to a person emotionally after that? Then there's the cost of food etc. You just don't know so please don't be negative.

    At first I was quick to judge grown people with baby dolls BUT I relate to the pain of wanting children but not having any of my own yet. AND this woman is pure love, what can be wrong with that? Too many people have children they don't cherish or care for. This hobby actually looks really sweet to me now.

At times i need to hold them talk to them and just relax a bit with one after stressing and anxiety gets to me. I dont care what people think of this they have not lived my life or my pains in it, I am glad i have a dear friend who understands the need i have. I don't see anything wrong with this. My husband loves football. He memorizes the teams and all their players. He buys souvenirs and expensive game tickets. He spends hours, days, weeks, months watching it, and plays fantasy football.
    It's play. Adults can play. That's right.
    If a woman dresses up, buys things for, and plays with replicated babies, so what? It's play. Same thing.
    I miss having my babies to tend to when my husband happily watches football games all through the football season.

    The truth is, when people judge someone with a mental health issue or disability and they are interested in something that "normal" people see as unusual or weird or inappropriate for one's age. That's ableism. I recently had to sit through one of my dad's anger filled outbursts as he raged about all the reasons I wasn't "normal" and why that wasn't okay. I'm still hurt by the fact he had to use the R word while assuming what people (whom he has never met and knows nothing about) would think of me when I'm out in public with my reborns (if I do take them out, it's just one at a time). He assumed I would have negative experiences but in reality, what experiences I have had have been positive.

    I stated seriously looking into getting a reborn after failing for a long time to get over my miscarriage and move on and my failur to fall pregnant again a few years later. I recently found out that I may be a carrier of the BRCA1 cancer gene, and if I am a carrier I will not be having biological children of my own as this gene will die with me. I also have depression anxiety and ptsd and don't want to risk them passing down. I have found 2 beautiful babies a girl and a boy and they are helping me so much. I take them out and it helps my anxiety and makes me engage with people I actually took them on walks this weekend and did 5kms over 2 days which is huge for me. My family doesn't completely understand why I have them But support me and I love introducing them to be people. And I have baby snuggles after rough days at work. I found a way to enjoy my life in a way that makes me happy thats not hurting anyone.

  • @amyrakoff5839
    @amyrakoff5839 18 дней назад

    I started collecting last year. The community has grown in the thousands. There are still others who find them scary because they look so real or associated them with psychopathic horror films and they will judge until they experience holding the doll and seeing well made ones. This is a blanket statement... But a lot of male spouses do not understand the need and love for the dolls immediately so it's understandable why some people need time. Reborn babies have many varieties and some kits are quite scary while others are adorable. They are loved for their uniqueness, their feel, their snuggly bodies and weight and that new baby feel. People have them because they collect dolls, for comfort from anxiety and depression, miscarriage, empty nest syndrome as well as inner child joy. They are Not designed for believing they are real, assuming the real experience of parenthood or filling an unhealthy void.
    I know my reborns have helped me when I have morning anxiety and give me something to look forward to when I get home. Hugging them, cleaning them, clothing them and swaddelling them are very relaxing and they are also used for Alzheimers patients.
    I have started making mini clay reborns for display and it's an art of love and nurturing.

  • @au131951
    @au131951 Год назад +1

    My reborns are my son-therapy now that my family has grown up. I have several sculpts of each one and I still watch for new ones that get a closer likeness. When I'm so lonesome that my heart aches I pick up the one I miss most at that moment and we rock for awhile. I'm not beyond rocking all 3 at once. Many of the sculptors of these dolls are tremendously gifted and dedicated as are the nurseries that do the actual reborning of prototypes and dolls they sell. It's expensive, tedious, time consuming and rewarding to see one go from a kit in pieces to a lifelike squeezable infant. There are all kinds of therapy from getting out in the wilderness and staring into a campfire to racing cars/motorcycles or fixing old clocks. I consider it a healthy way to cope with the landslide of stuff that takes away from us in the business of daily living. The feeling of a baby in my arms, a soft blanket, a rocking chair and a really good picture book is therapy to me. Real babies work best but sometimes there isn't one -or several - available.

  • @616imhotep

    You are never too old to play with dolls. There are a million reasons people, not just women, could benefit from having them as therapy. So unless you have walked in someone's shoes their entire life path, which is, of course, impossible; just don't judge! I had heard that line from tik tok somewhere before, "It has come to my attention that I have offended some of you. I am truly sorry, I meant to offend all of you!" I love that line.

    The woman with the reborn dolls, i understand her and I'm proud that she found a way to deal with tough things in life. For the woman of metal Heath, she spoke very well about metal Heath and she seems to understand points of views very well, I'm glad that she was able to speak about her perspective, I'm proud of her as well. Now I'm going to share this video with people i know and hopefully with my family to make them all understand about reborn dolls. I couldn't say it any better myself. And if anyone is wondering, yes I have 16 reborn dolls i collect and i make bigger dolls myself, it helps me with lost of a child, and depression and anxiety and helps with my pain for an injury and much more. I don't think people should put other people down on what they do and love, because everyone has something even if they say or don't say. I think a reborn doll is better than going home to a robot vacuum cleaner and having the vacuum cleaner ride you, yes there are people who do that, i don't. So think about what people do, stop bullying. There is nothing Wrong with reborn dolls, and the dolls are treated like a baby or child, and i think it's ok as long as the person who has it is happy and it helps them in life.

      Same. I've wanted to have a baby since I was a teenager. I knew my cerebral palsy would make it almost impossible. Plus my mother being super religious didn't help matters, but that's beside the point) for a long time I didn't want to face the reality that pregnancy won't be in the cards for me, but my reborn dolls help fill that void. I also have a Real care baby. She is basically a baby simulator that is used in high school health classes. You would probably love one! Google realcare baby or baby think it over.

    Good luck with your schizophrenia! I was diagnosed with OCD a few years ago as a young adult and I took up doll collecting as a hobby that was innocent, colorful, and took up space in my brain so I had other things to think about besides the intrusive thoughts. Never give up something you do for fun if it's innocent and good for you.

  • @MommyOfZoeAndLiam
    @MommyOfZoeAndLiam Год назад

    I don't get it, BUT even as a kid I never really got baby dolls and I didn't understand kids who would take a doll or stuffed animal with them to places like school or the park and then be like, "Oh can you hold my baby while I go on the swings". I did like to play with Barbies and make up stories with them, people are just different in the things they enjoy. I think to me it just seemed boring to have to "care for" some inanimate object as if it mattered. But if it brings people joy, good for them. In developmental psychology I remember learning about some experiments where they would put dolls in with orphaned primates to help them feed and they would bond with them and in other studies with primate groups if there was one that was bullied by the group (like in zoos or preserves) giving the bullied primate a younger primate to take care of would often make them stand up for themselves to better protect the young one. So I would guess that this is a similar reaction for some of the people who get therapy out of this feeling as though they are caring for a baby, and for those who just find it enjoyable, its good to do things you enjoy as long as they don't hurt yourself or others, as long as it isn't causing a compulsion or ruining your life with the money you are spending, everyone does something they find fun that other people find weird, so be weird, it's ok, we all are.

    Without watching it here's my opinion.... Men can have toy trains cars collect things play with things have their toys.... A lot of us girls grew up with baby dolls... Why are we not allowed to embrace our inner child? From Barbies to babies their toys.... Not everybody has a trauma reason. But no one's asking men Do they know anyone killed in the car wreck? Or a train... but women they assume something's happened to them.... And if it has it's like nobody's business. Some people do have trauma some old ladies carry baby dolls around and they think they're real humans They have dementia or something... I think all of it is fine Even if you want to collect trains as a woman. But making it weird or judging IS wrong no matter what AND if trauma it's extra wrong bc they need that extra love. Its all good ❤❤

    No realistic reborn doll is $100. Blank kits cost that. In order to get a lifelike one, you have to pay at least $800 and up, more like $2000. Silicone dolls start around $2800 and up to over $10,000. Anything less, you're getting garbage.

    I think that this isnt hurting anybody so who cares if she wants to push her baby around in a stroller? Even if she knows its not reak its actually hekoing her cope with her disease. I can see how these are a coping mechanism for some.

      Are you offering funds to help with adoption? sense you throwing it out there as if it's as simple as plucking apples off a tree. Offer some help instead of negativity.
