I went into a deep depression… I was scared. Still am and had terrible anxiety. I think I cried for a month. I literally felt like I have an old person illness and I was gonna die. I know it’s sounds dramatic but I can relate when you said it’s super stigmatized. I felt like people would look at me and feel sorry for me. I still get bad anxiety. Thank u for this video. It’s hard for me to still talk about it and not feel ashamed.

I was diagnosed with diabetes type to last Thursday (10/21) and everything you went through is exactly what I'm feeling. I've been watching RUclips since Thursday like a mini-series. They literally gave me a prescription, a list of foods to avoid, told me to exercise and be back in 3 months. They literally told me to Google. I could go on and on but your video speaks my perspective 💯. Although I'm a man. I am mentally determined to not let this rule me. Thank you for sharing and I pray you're still making it work! ✊🏾

You can manage type two diabetes without meds.
Diet and exercise…. Lower your carbs in every way and obviously sugar. U wont need meds.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Three months ago, I went through the same thing as well with my primary care provider. I was told I wasn't diabetic...and that was that. No warning of how dangerously close I was to being diabetic. I was told to see a nutritionist to work on my eating, and to be more active, and to check back in three months. This month marks the third month, but there was a schedule change with my provider. So I got to see a different provider who was available, and she was really sweet and empathetic when she shared the news with me. Hearing the words, "...you have type 2 diabetes", felt like a death sentence because I'm so set in my ways. But now I really need to change my life around, because my life depends on it.

Hmmm , I was diagnosed with diabetes 4 days ago when I noticed I was peeing excessively at night and craving cold water . I was just planning my life trying to get into a healthy relationship . Then bang, I was told I have type diabetes . All i heard in my ears was weeeeeeeeeee..... i couldn't hear anything else that the doctor said after that, all i was thinking was how do i get married now, how do i have healthy kids, what i have done to my life, i was eating healthy in 2015 with juice diet then i had gallstone, i prayed for almost 2 years, i refused to do the surgery eventually the gallstone left in 2018, then in 2020 i got caught up with covid 19 and couldn't breath on my own for 8 days and i was admitted. 8 nurses was assigned to me and eventually the doctor said they've tried everything and said i don't want to see myself on the ventilation. On the 9th day, i started breathing on my own and i was discharged immidiately, all glory to God . Fast foward 2022 now, am diagnosed with type 2 diabeties now , i cried , because all my life i always feel like i was running away from something, now am alone, confused and tired and I have no idea what to eat. So i checked on youtube for the excessive urine symptoms some say i need to eat 2 eggs a day to stop the urine , but when i investigated the disadvantage of eating eggs , it was no good. But with the same God that took me out of covid, healed my Gallstone with no more gallstone attacks will also be the same God that will heal this type 2 diabetes in Jesus mighty name i pray.

Here’s my judgement on you...sweet, direct, beautiful, and clear desire to learn and pass on knowledge to others.
I’m sensitive to t2d because my mom chose to go untreated for 8-10 years to stay skinny and eat whatever she wanted. It took her leg and then her life.
I will stay a follower if you are honestly trying to turn the t2d around. I just can’t watch another person go through that again.
I wish you all the best and am saying a prayer to God for healing in your body. God bless you ♥️♥️♥️

Since diabetes is already prevalent in my family and I’ve been feeling a lot of symptoms I wasn’t completely shocked by the news but it is still a lot to take in. You make such good points here. I've always thought that the real reason why people like to chip in on type 2 is because they finally have a way to start talking about the person's weight and eating habits. I think thats fine if it's from someone who truly loves you and they are genuinely worried. However, people sometimes don't have enough brain cells to understand that everyone has different body types and metabolisms. I'm overweight and at risk for type 2 diabetes because of PCOS. All my adult life, I have spent it watching what I eat but yesterday, oh my god to my horror, I discovered that if I had that extra piece of fruit, my blood sugars rise quickly ... Fruit man. My point here is, I know people who are much thinner than I am but eat 3 times more than I do and all of it is junk yet they are slim. This just goes to show how sometimes, people don't bring type 2 onto themselves like thinner people like to believe we do. Anyway, I'm not diabetic yet, I'm pre-diabetic and I stick to such a strict way of eating. I hate it because in order to stay in this pre-diabetic state, I have to do things like not have an extra piece of fruit after just eating lean chicken, mostly salad and 3 little pieces of potato. Yay. Urgh, sorry for the rant, your video is brilliant 👍

I almost thought I had written this. Sounds a lot like my story. I'm pre-diebetic. Do you also struggle with fatigue, noodle like body (muscles) and brain fog? I do hope your condition gets better and find a good balance of fruits. Low glycemic fruits like kiwi and berries seem to have the least amount of sugar. Get well!

hearing your story and then reading your update we have similar stories at 23 years ago at age 29 i went to go get a nerve conduction test after complaining about numbness and pain in both my hands and feet. I remember the doctor who was going to do test started to become really concerned that I had diabetes so she gave me a form to get blood work after she did the nerve conductipn test and yes my bloodwork was horrible and yes i had neuropathy. i remember my A1C was 18.2 or something horrible like that... but because of my age the endocrinoligist refused to put me on insulin and insisted i was type 2 not type 1 despite my acttive lifestyle and healthy diet. my morning numbers were crazy high like in the 200s. even though i was doing my best to eat well and small portions watch my carbs etc.. but this doctor would accuse me of lying.. I put up wih him for over 10 years until i woke up one morning and couldnt see everything was murky. at that point i had developed proliferative retinopathy my 2nd diabetes complication and had lost quite a bit of vision. the endo still refused to put me on instulin for i finally fired him and went to a different doctor and clinic. I was type 1 all along and the doctors were appalled at this others behavior its been about 10 years sincee i been on insulin and I been doing so much better. there is so much stgma with this desease. more so with type 2 but even the type 1s get judged. I also come from a culture GReek decent that once any of the older generation hears im diabetic from such a young age. They gasp and assume im not taking care of myself. i find myself theying to explain the difference to thembut now i cant be bothered.. truth is whichever type of diabetes you have its not our fault we didnt bring this ourseelves. We just eiher dont have functioning pancreas or our bodies treat insulin like its a foreein entity that needs to be destroyed. we didnt get this from eating a bad diet or too much sugar if that were the case more and more people would hsve. It makes my blood boil when i hear someone say you got this because you ate too much sugar. No i got this because my pancrease stopped working or my immune systeem thinks iinsulin is the enemy. I know its lenghty but i totally feel where your coming from annd wish we all just got along and not judge

Was diagnosed with Type 2 a month ago with HBA1C of 7.4. At first i was also devastated but my doctor advised that this is reversible and refrain from eating sugary things and repeat test after one month. Came back did some research, totally stopped taking 4 things Sugar, Rice, White Flour and Potatoes. Started doing exercise daily for half an hour. Got my results on 30.9.2022 and my HBA1c has dropped to 6.5 from 7.4 without the use of any medication and my goal is to bring it down to 5.4. So now worries you just have to change your eating habits and will see results.

This spoke to me. When I found out I had T2D (as well as my then-14 y/o child), I wept then got angry. I, too, jumped online and found Dr. Sarah Hallberg’s 2015 TEDTalk. I, too, overhauled my life (but I utterly changed everything I was taught growing up regarding food security/food storage) but it freed me. I often say that if I hadn’t received that diagnosis in 2016, I would not have had the tools to survive Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis in 2017. It’s July 2022 now and I’m NED but through dietary change, I’ve changed my life. I’ve lost over 80# through dietary change alone. Now? I’m Ketovore/Carnivore and loving life.

Sounds like what they did to my mom. She knew that she had diabetes but at Easter 2013 she got double pneumonia and it was waring with her diabetes. Her blood sugars went all the way up to 44 deadly high as I'm in Canada and anything over 10 is high. She was in a diabetic coma for a while and when she woke up the doctors said she had to start taking insulin. They showed her how to inject on an orange but not how to do it on an actual person. They didn't show me or my sister how to do it either. We were very upset after picking up her insulin and realizig that we couldn't do it until we could get help. Then my aunt realized the pastor from church was diabetic and on insulin. He came right over and showed her how to prepare it and then gave himself an injection to show her. Then he watched her prep the needle and that. He asked if she wanted him to inject it first. She is terrified of needles by the way. She said no that she had to get used to it. She got it ready and injected it all by herself with him watching. We were lucky to have him there to show her and us how to properly give herself the injections. Now I'm on insulin myself. I used to take 6 plus injections a day. Almost 5 years ago now I got my first insulin pump which lasts for four years. I've had my second insulin pump for almost a year now! Its a lot of work and I get grief sometimes even from type 1 diabetics some of them telling me that I shouldn't use an insulin pump that just diet and excercise would make it go away an dlosing a bunch of weight. My doctors said that for me I'll always be on insulin as my body is only type 2 because it makes less then a percent of insulin. So because type 1 body makes no insulin and mine makes a tiny tiny bit I'm considered type 2. Sorry this is so very long

Thank you for making this video. I haven't been feeling well for many months now. I've been sweating profusely as if I just got out off the shower with my clothes on, everyday. I got a blood test last week and recieved a call from my Dr. They ordered me a glucose meter because my A1C was high. I didn't understand just how high it was. I finally got it approved by my insurance and just picked it up yesterday. My first blood sugar reading was 359. The Dr had told me she wanted it under 120. I tested myself every couple of hours just to see what it was doing. I was averaging in the 350ish range all evening. This morning when I got up it was the lowest at 236. I proceeded to test my self every couple hours and my lunchtime today it was at 415. I called the dr office to let them know and they immediately told me I needed to take a oral pill in the morning as well as insulin injections. I also have been searching for a RUclips person that can help me understand. It seems like this is so unexpected. This is how I found your channel and I just wanted to say thank you again for making this video.

I am literally in the bathroom every 30 minutes. Bottom line you have to give up alcohol, sugar, and limit your carbs and exercise. Definitely helps you to live a healthier lifr

Yeah, I been prediabetic before and got it down to the point I was normal. Unfortunately, I think I been slacking on my nutrition this year. Even though I go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week, my weight has increased in 3 years. It started to go up when I stopped taking hypertension meds. But I still tried to stay on a low carb diet. However, I have had some days which were complete failures. My anxiety and fear of knowing if I have it or not, kept from seeing the doctors. I also have a phobia of doing bloodwork. Finally cave in and went to the doctor the other day. Did my bloodwork. Now waiting on results.
Best case scenario: All good. I'll even accept: You're prediabetic. Worst case: You have T2D.
I'm so anxious and scared. I remember years ago when I was told that I was prediabetic, that I promised myself that I would stay on a strict low carb/sugar diet. I would do portion control. I take supplements that's suppose to help with blood sugar, but I hear supplements are useless. But now mad at myself for the times I slacked off. So far, I haven't any major symptoms. But I know overweight people who have received diabetic diagnosis, who had no symptoms at all.
Best of luck with your results. I'm praying (and I'm not religious) for a positive diagnosis.

People with type 1 diabetes must use insulin because their pancreas isn't producing it, but people with type 2 (as you know), are also users of both long acting and short acting insulins. I also didn't know that people with T2D used insulin.

I was diagnosed with type 2, 2 months ago and I understand you 100%. Take it easy, I know it's hard, you will never get used to it because I'll be lying if I say that you will, but you're going to learn how to live with it, my advice is: try your best to eat healthy, include nuts and fruits onyour diet, make sure to have healthy snacks like apple and peanut butter. Sadly my friend no more pizza, no pasta and 0 burritos 😭 Check your sugars before every big meal like breakfast, lunch and dinner and no more because it can drive you crazy, unless you need it. This is my schedule 6am-9:30am breakfast, 10am-11am snack, 11:30am-12:30 lunch, 1pm-3p snack, 4:30pm-6:00 dinner, 7pm-7:30pm snack and sometimes I eat a healthy cereal with no sugar, fruits and unsweetened coconut milk around 8-9pm. I hope this helps, the hardest part is pricking our fingers and injecting but you will see that injections are easier. I'm talking from my experience. If you need help or if you need to talk to someone I'm here. I'm with you and I know all of this could be overwhelming and hard to process but like I said you’re going to learn how to live with it, I promise.

Unfortunately, never enough meds with the desired side effects such as
weight loss. But, Drs. have no problem prescribing anti-diabetic meds that cause weight gain, while Insurance companies are more reluctant to cover weight loss meds. ironically, with the obesity epidemic, further exacerbating diabetes, it’s Sad!
Better off going with all the natural remedies, whenever possible. Big Pharma continuously profiting off the most vulnerable suffering with chronic diseases, while there is proven science that there is a cure for diabetes in the works. Stop wasting your money on synthetic drugs that have unpleasant side effects that keep you in the diabetes trap for life. No one should have to live a life sentence. Diabetes, like cancer been around for a century. It’s about time they find a cure rather than managing a devastating life long disease and throwing away your money. Furthermore, no one should have to plead to be healthy

It's really important to go to your doctor and be screened for diabetes. They should check fasting blood sugar, A1C, and also labs like cholesterol, kidney and liver function and blood pressure. It's good to get all of that done annually, but sooner than later if you're having symptoms.

Please see my updated video in the description. I was misdiagnosed with type 2 diabetes and type 1 diabetes a couple of years after I made this. I currently do eat a low carb diet to manage diabetes, but I will have to take insulin for the rest of my life since my beta cells are being attacked by my body. There is no cure or reversing type 1, unfortunately.
While people can manage diabetes with a low carb diet, sometimes other things can be at play. I’m very glad that was a lifesaving change for you.
