  • This video is a little introduction to Zorb fabrics, which are used as absorbent layers in both cloth diapering and in cloth menstrual pads. I have not used Zorb in my own sewing before, but I wanted to show you what the fabrics look like and tell you what their qualities are before I cut up the only samples I had to demonstrate for you.
I hope you enjoy it! A video about the most commonly-used absorbent fabrics and a proper review of Zorb after I've sewn with it myself will be coming soon!
If you want to read more from Wazoodle, which is the manufacturer of Zorb fabrics, or if you would like to buy some, please visit their website: wazoodle.com/in...

Yay! Can't wait to see how you like sewing with it. Its definitely my favorite soaker material to work with simply for price and ease of sewing. Might want to mention that you don't do anything to prep original Zorb, but ZorbII (dimples and diamonds) need to be washed and dried first because the outer fabric will shrink a bit and could distort the pad. Oh, and you need to run a quick stitch or serge around the outside before washing so you don't get tons of little pieces of fluff floating in the washer and dryer. :)

Thank you Mindy. I am planning on making pads for little girls in Africa. I hope Zorb will do the trick

Thanks for the videos. My daughter asked me to make some cloth pads for her and I did. The first 3 were pretty awful, but I finally made an inner and outer template that does work well and I just received my order of Zorb that I found on Amazon which was shipped directly from Wazoodle.

Thanks so much. very informative. I want to use Zorb in a lap protector at meal time(food spills and hot liquids) and I want to use PUL fabric as the bottom layer. I will sew around the edges but can you suggest what I could use to secure both layers in the middle(without stitches) so the layers don't shift?

Hi Amy. I’ve just found your site and I’m fascinated about the zorb fabric. I’m 74 years old and female ... so I’m a bit passed my period stage. My problem is that I suffer from slight incontinence, more so at night then the day. I also have a Maltese dog who is 16 years old, who wears a belly band so when I get up in the night to go to the toilet, there’s a fight as to who goes first, through the door, the dog or me, so you can see my dilemma. I would like to make my own pads and also make Oscar’s belly bands. Could you recommend a pattern, and also start me off with the fabrics that I will need. I live in the UK. I do find your videos fascinating. 🐶

Thank you for your videos.you answered so many questions and doubts i had about cloth pads backings. I can not find PUL here in Portugal but the fabric store showed me a cloth for tables that is cotton backed with plastic . It is also very thin. Do you know what it is and do you think i might use it instead of PUL.? Thank you so much again for all the information you give us.

When I first started seeing pads, I used something similar to what you're talking about. It's not the same as Zorb, but it will work if you can't get anything else.
Try Amazon to order Zorb if Wazoodle.com won't ship to you.

I was wondering that too, I couldn't find it, but that didn't mean it wasn't there.

    Is zorb 2 quick dry?

+Zhabib Moussignac I don't find that it dries any faster than Zorb 1, but yes. It dries much faster, I find, than terry or flannel/flannelette.
