I love the way Maddie talked about how much Abby adores Nia, and the evolution of their relationship together. Maddie I have always thought was down to earth, this proves it.
It was so sad to heard that in season 1 nobody talked to Nia. I'm glad the girls spend time with her more now, because I see pictures of her with all the girls.
I so loved that you guys had Melissa and her girls on the show. I hope that more of the cast come in the studio and talk with you three. It's so pleasant to hear different sides of the story.
OMG loved this reclap!!! what an amazing surprise for you guys to get Melissa, Maddie, and MacKenzie on here. it was nice hearing their opinions and little stories of what happens on and off camera. I wish dance mom producers would take note and make some changes that show everyone acting like the loving "family" they so clearly are. also, idk what some commenters on here are complaining about, the hosts acted the way they normally do, and the guests were lovely and seemed very real and down to earth... hopefully you guys will be able to get other dance mom cast members on here in the future :)

I have to agree with Francisco, some of the girls need to really dig down deep, find their emotions, and use it in their dancing. There were a couple of times that I saw this done really well: Chloe's solo - Seeing Red, Maddie's solo - Uphill Battle, and Nia in the Free at Last group dance (which gave me goosebumps actually). Also, the Ziegler's seem really sweet, I don't think they deserve any of the hate they get. They just do what they're told, and follow the rules. I think it was really cute when they were talking about always going to get dinner when filming and the girls getting room service in the hotel. They should show more of that on the show. I'd rather watch 42 minutes of the girls hanging out and dancing and having fun, than 42 minutes of drama. It's so predictable now, that it isn't really that interesting to watch.

Yeah people are crazy with the comments. I prefer a lot of Chloe's solos over Maddies, but Maddie has some gorgeous stunning solos I'm absolutely in love with. Either way, if have you favorite or not, but at the same time I don't really know how you could have a favorite. Why does everyone have to be a fan of a specific girl, as far as I am concerned all the girls are uniquely talented in their own ways, hard working and genuinely sweet. Liking one girl more than the others should not in any way mean you need to go on social media and trash talk another, for goodness sake they're children. That being said it was really nice to hear about the other side of aldc and honestly I would much prefer to see the pyjama dance classes and room service missions than the concocted drama we see on the show, the producers of Dance Moms need to realise that the repeated arguments are getting old and that attempting to script the girls and mothers is losing them fans rather than gaining them. I wish the show was a fairer representation of events.

this was a weird after show episode it did not talk a lot about the episode but i liked melissa maddie and mackenize telling us what else happens i dont know what to say about the actual episode i know payton will be coming in to dance one day and christi and abby get into an argument and a prediction i made before was correct kalani's mom did go to court with abby and we should be learning more about it in the next episode. Well...maybe Melissa has said that Maddie's the best dancer...but that was compared to the other girls on the team before Kalani came in. Now that Kalani is on the team, maybe Melissa has a different perspective.

When you have guests in your studio, guests that are taking time out of their busy schedules to come sit with us and talk to us, we are not going to sit there and bash them or anybody else. We have to be respectful and gear their time in the studio towards THEM. I think we were very candid and very honest about our opinions. I feel like we put it out there and asked what we needed to ask. We never asked her if anybody could beat maddie, she actually CLARIFIED that her answer was edited when she said that on tv. She said that no one can beat Kalani in a solo. And as far as I'm concerned, before Kalani came onto the team, nobody could beat Maddie, except for the occassional Chloe solo. That's just honesty. It is what it is. Melissa is confident in her daughter regardless.
All of these cooments about the girls especially maddie in particualar are absolutely disgusting, just remember they are little girls!!! And people say abbys abusive to kids? Well, I will say I loved this week's "re-clap", unfortunately, not because of the hosts. Just kidding, I love you guys. Listening to your recaps of the show is often more enjoyable than the actual show. And what a wonderful surprise to see three of my favorite people from the show in your studio. I hope you will be able to get some of the other kids and their moms on the show as well. I love getting the perspective of the cast outside of the distortion bubble that is the show.
I think the reason everybody freaks out when a hat or headpiece whatever is dropped is bcuz even though it might not effect the points it take away the attention at least for a split second it's distracting
Can i just say.....i find it hard to believe kalani does 40 hours of ballet a week? .....that would mean she does like 6 hours a day 7 days a week of just ballet......and thats not including jazz / acro / rehersal/contemporary stuff....etc??? i dunno maybe she does literally dance non stop 12 hours a day but i find this hard to believe considering i know people at proffesional ballet schools who dont do this much of pure ballet.

Great show! Very interesting to hear a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes. Would love to see Dance Moms without all of the stupid drama.. it sounds like the moms, Abby, and especially the girls themselves work too damn hard to have petty drama overshadow all of there hard work.
+Anna J. I know, she shouldn't have told the moms that going to lunch with someone who's no longer a member of the ALDC is not being loyal to the studio itself. All the moms were doing is just trying to keep up with their former team member to see what's up and if Abby doesn't like it, then her studio should be shut down forever.

Did they even go over Chloe's solo? I watched it all the way through once and then went back to see if maybe I just forgot it but I couldn't find it. Too bad because I loved that solo and would have loved to hear what they panel thought.

I am wondering if the relationship between Melissa and Christie is really as nasty as it seems and how do they compartmentalize. Maybe just like actors? I'd really like to watch these girls learn the numbers, go to the hotel, and be real. Lifetime, that is the show we want. I recently watched the first episode of season one. It was so good. Dial it down and get real again. By the way, Francisco, you keep getting more handsome by the week.
This is gotten to be too much, I love all the girls and think they are incredibly talented. I wish the show could be more positive and the fans would stay more positive . We have way to much negativity in this world to create such hate and conflict when it is totally unnecessary.
The show airs on tuesday, we film our reclap on WEDNESDAY nights at 8pm PST :) Then it takes time to edit and piece together everything, the producers are awesome and get it up as soon as they can. We have an awesome afterbuzz tv. They actually get things up relatively quick :)

OK....Last week you guys were talking about how Abby was crossing the line, too tough on the girls, etc. This week Melissa is on the show, and it's an Abby love fest. You asked Melissa bout Abby being tough, but it felt so quick and not true to what you were saying in past weeks. Melissa is shady on the show, so I take what she said on your show with a grain of salt. I think it's hard to know what is the "truth" on this show because there is so much conflicting information in interviews and what is on the show. I just wish that as hosts of the show it didn't feel so flippy floppy. I have really enjoyed the podcasts, but my favorite weeks are when you don't have people from the show on. They all have their own agendas, and I don't like them pushed on your podcast.

Francisco Thurston Thanks Francisco. I have my view of them based on what I have seen...yes, but I fully admit that there are things I don't know as well. What I have seen in interviews and on the show...I don't love it lately. Personally I'm teetering on the decision to continue watching the show or not. Having nothing to do with this podcast at all. I appreciate candid conversation...like this one here. We don't have to agree with each other, just respect that people can have different opinions. They put themselves on a "reality" show...they leave themselves open for judgement. By no means do I think Melissa is a bad mom, or that the kids are bad kids. They have incredible talent, and I think they will do great things. I just don't like what I see on the show lately...hence the teetering. Perhaps my views on this episode have more to do with my feelings of the Melissa/Abby dynamic I'm allowed to see. I appreciate the honesty, and respectful dialog :)

Some of the moms on the show don't care about well they dance. They may but editing shows that they are more pissed when Abby tries to add more stuff to dances and make life hell for the moms. Example is when Chloe and Kalani go one on one to earn the solo dance. We all know that they are good dancers. Its about the fact when Abby does her pyramid order its about who kisses Abby's ass the most.

She acted like she didn't know that Maddie was competing in two competitions one day and that was clearly a lie. She said she didn't know about the letters to the other mothers from the lawyer when she told her fiancé to call his lawyer. She was engaged to a married man. I think that the other moms have reason to say she is dishonest.

If you listen to the whole recap of our show, I mention to the girls and melissa that I wish that would stop happening. That maddie is maddie and the rest of the girls are who they are. They will never be maddie. And yes, Melissa does tell us that her line was edited and replaced it with Maddie, and replaced Kalani's name.

Well, I will say I loved this week's "re-clap", unfortunately, not because of the hosts. Just kidding, I love you guys. Listening to your recaps of the show is often more enjoyable than the actual show. And what a wonderful surprise to see three of my favorite people from the show in your studio. I hope you will be able to get some of the other kids and their moms on the show as well. I love getting the perspective of the cast outside of the distortion bubble that is the show.

I think the reason everybody freaks out when a hat or headpiece whatever is dropped is bcuz even though it might not effect the points it take away the attention at least for a split second it's distracting

Can i just say.....i find it hard to believe kalani does 40 hours of ballet a week? .....that would mean she does like 6 hours a day 7 days a week of just ballet......and thats not including jazz / acro / rehersal/contemporary stuff....etc??? i dunno maybe she does literally dance non stop 12 hours a day but i find this hard to believe considering i know people at proffesional ballet schools who dont do this much of pure ballet.
Some people only COMPLETELY train in Ballet. Maybe thats what Kalani's focus is.

Great show! Very interesting to hear a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes. Would love to see Dance Moms without all of the stupid drama.. it sounds like the moms, Abby, and especially the girls themselves work too damn hard to have petty drama overshadow all of there hard work.

All the moms were doing is just trying to keep up with their former team member to see what's up and if Abby doesn't like it, then her studio should be shut down forever.

Great show. I am wondering if the relationship between Melissa and Christie is really as nasty as it seems and how do they compartmentalize. Maybe just like actors? I'd really like to watch these girls learn the numbers, go to the hotel, and be real. Lifetime, that is the show we want.
I recently watched the first episode of season one. It was so good. Dial it down and get real again.
By the way, Francisco, you keep getting more handsome by the week.
This is gotten to be too much, I love all the girls and think they are incredibly talented. I wish the show could be more positive and the fans would stay more positive . We have way to much negativity in this world to create such hate and conflict when it is totally unnecessary.

The show airs on tuesday, we film our reclap on WEDNESDAY nights at 8pm PST :) Then it takes time to edit and piece together everything, the producers are awesome and get it up as soon as they can. We have an awesome afterbuzz tv. They actually get things up relatively quick :)

OK....Last week you guys were talking about how Abby was crossing the line, too tough on the girls, etc. This week Melissa is on the show, and it's an Abby love fest. You asked Melissa bout Abby being tough, but it felt so quick and not true to what you were saying in past weeks. Melissa is shady on the show, so I take what she said on your show with a grain of salt.
I think it's hard to know what is the "truth" on this show because there is so much conflicting information in interviews and what is on the show. I just wish that as hosts of the show it didn't feel so flippy floppy.
I have really enjoyed the podcasts, but my favorite weeks are when you don't have people from the show on. They all have their own agendas, and I don't like them pushed on your podcast.

Kathleen Trask I agree with you that it is hard to know the "truth" of what actually goes on. But you obviously feel comfortable making a judgement about Abby and Melissa as people based off what you admit is possibly a false view of reality.
Okay, I'm just going to touch on this topic here as well. When you have guests in your studio, guests that are taking time out of their busy schedules to come sit with us and talk to us, we are not going to sit there and bash them or anybody else. We have to be respectful and gear their time in the studio towards THEM. I think we were very candid and very honest about our opinions about abby. They said their pieces about Abby and were very honest about her and their feelings about her, we didn't agree with them, we just heard them out. If the girls and melissa love Abby, they love abby. We're not going to sit there and criticize them for that, ya feel me? If you listen in next week, I have some things I found out from one of the candy apples mom that kind of tells you what goes on behind the scenes. A lot of stuff is contrived. And pushed.
Francisco Thurston Thanks Francisco. I have my view of them based on what I have seen...yes, but I fully admit that there are things I don't know as well. What I have seen in interviews and on the show...I don't love it lately. Personally I'm teetering on the decision to continue watching the show or not. Having nothing to do with this podcast at all.
I appreciate candid conversation...like this one here. We don't have to agree with each other, just respect that people can have different opinions. They put themselves on a "reality" show...they leave themselves open for judgement. By no means do I think Melissa is a bad mom, or that the kids are bad kids. They have incredible talent, and I think they will do great things. I just don't like what I see on the show lately...hence the teetering.
Perhaps my views on this episode have more to do with my feelings of the Melissa/Abby dynamic I'm allowed to see.

Francisco Thurston I agree. I think people have watched the show so much that they think it is ok to pick fights in front of kids or bash their teacher in front of them. Honestly, that is never ok, no matter what the teacher has done. I think it was great to hear all positivity. I wish dance moms had more positivity.

Some of the moms on the show don't care about well they dance. They may but editing shows that they are more pissed when Abby tries to add more stuff to dances and make life hell for the moms. Example is when Chloe and Kalani go one on one to earn the solo dance. We all know that they are good dancers. Its about the fact when Abby does her pyramid order its about who kisses Abby's ass the most.

First Abby now Melissa ,that is one sided we al know Melissa sucks up to Abby so of course she is going to say nice things about her. I love dance moms, but why have Melissa on the show? I don't think you will get a honest answer at all! She seems fake and I am really not sure I believe all the BS she was spewing! The world is not all sweetness and light! Come on we all no that it is not all perfect at ALDC. I watch the show to see these girls dance and I really wish it would concentrate on this and not all the drama. They are all talented and different.
I think Melissa is an honest person and speaks from her emotions. She has a genuine heart. Maybe she likes to stay positive and sweetness and light, whats wrong with that? I like to think that way too. I try to remain positive throughout the negatives. And lets not forget the show is called "Dance Moms" not "Dance Students." The show is following Dance Moms while touching on their girls and the studio.

She acted like she didn't know that Maddie was competing in two competitions one day and that was clearly a lie. She said she didn't know about the letters to the other mothers from the lawyer when she told her fiancé to call his lawyer. She was engaged to a married man. I think that the other moms have reason to say she is dishonest.

Maddie May or may not be the best dancer and Melissa is entitled to her opinion as is Abby but please try to remember Maddie is not the only fantastic dancer on that team! They are all different ! And I am tired of the other girls being compared to Maddie! Melissa should not have said that no one can beat Maddie at a solo cause Chloe has, Sofia has and kalani could!
Are you deaf? Melissa just said on this interview that she actually said "No one from our team can beat KALANI at a solo!"
If you listen to the whole recap of our show, I mention to the girls and melissa that I wish that would stop happening. That maddie is maddie and the rest of the girls are who they are. They will never be maddie. And yes, Melissa does tell us that her line was edited and replaced it with Maddie, and replaced Kalani's name.
