Vandoorea - Barren Landscape (Half-Life inspired music)

- I always imagine this track would play as you would walk entirely on your own in a rotten desert wasteland in broad daylight while the sun is shining over this dead landscape, that is infested with slimy alien creatures. The jungle drums might let you think of Bailey's 'Jungle Drums' from the Half-Life ost.
I hope you like it.

awesome idea!
Don't they already have a composer who makes awesome tracks?
@@roentgen519 doesn't hurt to have two, less work for the other one
PLEASE
Yeah Harry is making the soundtrack.
I love these Half Life Beta inspired pieces, this song is just dripping with details on how the ambiance is.
A bleak, barren sea bed under the harsh gaze of a oppressive and militaristic force draining away anything of value that the planet may have, all the while 'their' structures pollute the landscape. It is a very descriptive song and not once does it need to convey what it its trying to say with words.
Wow mate, you're really outdoing yourself. These original pieces, while being simple, do an excellent job of conveying the atmosphere of Half-Life. Just like Kelly would do it.
I can vividly imagine them being played in some kind of a new Half-Life game, Episode 3 or not.
As a side note, the beginning heavily reminds me of Lambda Core from the Black Mesa OST.
I don't know how this ended up in my recommended especially with such an early upload date (20 or so minutes ago) from a RUclipsr I don't know but it's amazing.
"If you've never been out there before, I have one piece of advice- At the first flicker of green light, you run! First time I saw it, I stopped to study it, and that's how I lost my leg. I've seen them take out whole squads, reeling in soldiers, tearing gunboats to bits! Some say it's only an electrical disturbance, but if you ask me, there's an intelligence in there somewhere. If only we could communicate with it- a force like that on our side, it would be a powerful ally."
- Eli Maxwell
Coming back to this 8 months later to remind you that this is an awesome track and so are your others, you could really become a soundtrack composer for a movie or video game.
2:41 I love how both this song and death count have sort of the same tune in them.
You can find it in Death Count at 2:36
They're just different enough so that you might not catch it at first, but if you listen them closely, you might catch it.
It's not a bad thing, actually it make it even better in a way, cause it deepens the connection between the songs, and makes it more meaningful... or... something like that... Anyways, I'm really liking your Half-Life inspired songs, keep them coming, I love em'!
dumb nigga that motif is in like every one of these songs
oh god im sorry i dont know what came over me im gonna cry
I can feel Combine's opression of Earth through this music. And the picture increases that feeling. Very athmospheric.
I'm really dumb. I was listening to this in my playlist, and when this came on I was like, "Damn this is great. I need to add this to my playlist," before realising that it was already, in fact, in my playlist.
I'd probably buy this twice at the store if it was available.
Wow, man, this track is awesome! You are doing pretty nice work.
Badass song over here 🔥🔥🔥
don't drink the water freeman
Personaly think this is your best one yet.
Very similar beat to Kernel panic from Project Borealis. Very epic.
Nice! Definitely getting the Half Life feel.
Amazing work as always.
Sick the album's out. Will buy.
This song feels like it's from the HL2 Beta, and i like it!
I love your work! I'm excited to listen to more of your action tracks especially
I just realized, if half life 3 ever comes out, this is what we're going to be traversing. In half life 2 and episodes 1 and 2 we don't really get so see much of the barren wasteland that the world has apparently become. We see a little, but none of it is too far from city 17, and it mostly just looks like regular outdoors, just infested with combine troops. But if half life 3 ever comes out and we do end up searching for the borealis, which seems to be the most common guess as to what happens in HL 3, we'll have to venture far from the city, and into the wastes created by the combine. That could be such an interesting change from the first few games!
I like how you reused the tone from Resistance into other tracks as a recurring sound.
This sounds amazing
I really hope this channel blows up!
I may be a LITTLE late but I really like this one. It is somewhat reminiscent of Halo's In Amber Clad (H2)/ Trapped In Amber (H2A) and I approve
Came up in my recommended, amazing.
Ok this is amazing, I'm subbing and leaving a like. No questions asked.
You know listening to this, it almost feels like this is where Guillaume David got some of the inspiration for the Mechanicus soundtrack. The only things missing is the pipe organ and choir. It's really good.
EDIT: Actually, now that I've been listening out for it, this song is eerily similar to Overlord on the Mechanicus OST..
Went ahead and bought the album since this one and Monoxide Highway aren't on Spotify :>
Barren Landscape more like Breen Landscape
Nice to see the recurring synth theme from Levi-Civita at 1:08
Sounds like the kind of music you'd hear after escaping from a factory about to explode
This music feels like it would fit for a battle on top of a moving train.
So good!
Great
I LOVE THIS!!!!
nice
I really love your remixes! Cold you please make some remixes of the Half Life: Opposing Force themes? (at least a remix for the tracks planet, soothing antagonist and storm)
sounds like something from Madness Combat
An amazing music, but only 891 views? How is this possible
has some of that calabri in it.
Too good. How this man is not in Valve?
Edit: BREEN Landscape

I just noticed that this sounds kinda like remix of BM: Xen - Mind Games.
