I fall asleep every night to the ricky gervais show... huge fan of seth/family trips. this is worlds colliding - in the best way possible. thanks for making this one a video pod!
I remember Seth saying in one of the earliest episodes that Larry Meyers would walk around the house humming the theme song and I had only heard it once or twice at that point and I was like what? It’s not even that catchy? And now a couple dozens of episodes later, here I am in the grocery store just like FaAaaamily Trips….with the Meeeeeeyyyyyers Brothers 😂😂😂😂
Going now to look up if Bill Hader has a movie coming out soon and then hopefully he will be on this podcast. 😊 Update: He will be in the Cat in the Hat in 2026. Too bad they couldn't get him on for the end of Barry. He probably did Seth's show.
It is so frustrating that more people are not watching/listening to this awesome podcast. What is wrong with people? This is such a fun program and they get great guests. I dont understand why it is not more popular.
OMG I think i stayed at that Devonshire farm that Stephen was talking about. I was an Au Pair who worked for a family in England. We went on holiday to this farm and I remember being shocked that the English would think a vacation included staying at a farm that smelled so badly of shit. I was so happy when we could go to the ocean to get away from the smell.
As an American with English parents whose honeymoon was camping on a farm in Wales, I can confidently say as a people, the English definitely have a different standard of what defines fun and relaxing.
My husband and I would watch an animated version of Stephen's podcast with Ricky before podcasts were popular. I adore Stephen's humor and point of view. Thank you for this conversation. Where did Karl Pulkington go?
Loved that John Cleese story at 01:00:00 . It's so great when fans find out their idols are fans of *them* ! I thought the end of the Stonehenge story was that Stephen had given Christopher Walken a leg-up so that he could stand on the top for a better view.
18:10 As a Bristolian myself, I was once asked by an American family if I was in London all the time what with it being 3 hours away. I love London but I could probably count on both hands how many times I've visited the place!
"One sister?" Is it the Greta girl!?! Kidding. I really enjoyed watching your Guys' reaction when Stephen shared what his dad said after the helicopter ride.
I like that they do a little chat just the two of them at the top. Because I like hearing the two of them chat about their lives or whatever, but obviously that’s not the premise of the podcast lol. But I’m glad we get a couple minutes at the top because I started listening to this podcast for the two of them and I like how they interact with the guests, but I’m not here for them to be honest
From NPR 2/2/2024: GUO: That barge was headed for Cape Canaveral. Skip and his crew have rescued a key component of the Space Shuttle - that iconic orange fuel tank. A few hours later, Skip's on a conference call with his bosses. And they point out that, according to a maritime law that goes all the way back to the ancient Greeks, Skip and his crew are entitled to a reward. They tell him... STRONG: Congratulations, Captain Strong. You now have salvage rights to everything behind you. GUO: Salvage rights - Skip had forgotten about the ancient law of salvage, which says that, if you rescue a ship from danger at sea, you get a reward based on the value of the stuff you saved. In this case, Skip and his crew had rescued a multimillion-dollar piece of the Space Shuttle. STRONG: My reaction at that point in time was, holy [expletive]. Yeah, oh, salvage.
The very fact that you can dangle your legs into the Grand Canyon , makes it a GRAND Canyon. being honest i only did the North Rim and hike down and slept on a precarious step there in.
ALL RIGHT! Very good, Boys! Some visuals. It's just, hmm, it's just better for to keep my attention on what's happening with what I'm listening to. Short attention span? Adult a-d- something, something? Anyways, thank.
Absolutely take your shoes off. Some unspoken rules to live by, wait like 10 minutes into the movie, post ad-break especially if you’re in the companion seat (doy, you goofy goofy guy), and it’s better to have shoes that come on and off quickly

I did that for a long time, too! You've gotta find the right ones that control the volume of Ricky's laugh, though, or it'll keep waking you up 😅
omg SAME!!!

I love being able to see you guys doing your podcast.
What a great episode. So much heart, kindness, fun, laughter❤️
Oh man, I forgot about Merchant. "Hello Ladies" should have got a season 2.
Did you see the movie?
Really enjoyed this episode !! Merchant is insanely talented and down to earth. Very much enjoying his show The Outlaws!
He's like a bit of weird art

He’s hilarious…the camera having 10 pics of the other family 😂😂😂

Always amazing to see Mr. Merchant!

"🎶 It's been seven hours and🎶- my dad was mad" 😂
I still want a supercut of Darth Vader with a Bristol accent.
Im here for Merchant. :)

MECHANT.
Ok, Stephen completely understood the assignment! Great episode!
Delightful - Uber talented Merchant. Eagerly await Larry's recounting of trip to Turks
Me and the misses went on a cruise last summer & I think we saw him.

I’m the same way. Love David Spade but don’t watch his show with Dana because it’s not filmed.
Albino watching this
No Josh song at the end?!?
I think they only do that for the audio podcast unfortunately.
Get Stephen a spray tan and he could pass for Josh on zoom.
Gotta get Fred Guinness on the phone, stat!
Delightful
🎉
My favorite! So funny!
there's this thing in it...

And no stinky feet obv. You can only take your shoes off in a theatre if you washed them with soap daily and wear a fresh pair of socks each day.
Seth's wedding band is unusually large 🤔 I'm distracted by it 😅
Does Stephen not know he is camera? why is he chewing gum?
Why wouldnt he? Is there some rule on that I've missed?
