Epic song and performance. Here are the powerful lyrics for this piece:
Black and Gold
Once you were all sea-folk and you sailed upon the seas
You crossed the roaring ocean with the devil at your heels
Oh, the time has come again now, I'll tell you how this will unfold
I wanna see the western ocean painted black and gold
Welcome to the seaside
It's been occupied
Burrow to the bottom
And behold
The mother lode
Of black and gold
Once you were all sea wolves, proudest on the western seas
These days you linger in the shade of taller trees
But the devil has a weak spot for wounded and the poor
For the hungry and the crafty and the wicked and the small
Onward to the seaside
It's been occupied
Burrow to the bottom
And behold
The mother lode
Of black and gold
Oh, keep that fire burning, keep a keen eye on the count
The bounty of the ocean, astronomical amounts
You all know where it's coming from, you all know where it's going
Yes, in the end I always had a cut of every coin
Welcome to the seaside
It's been occupied
Burrow to the bottom
And behold
The mother lode
You enjoy the seaside now
Blindly occupied
Burrow to the bottom
And behold
The mother lode
Of black and gold
Currently rewatching Occupied and the intro is still a banger! The live performance is even better

je découvre ce chanteur et ses musiciens grâce à la série "occupîed" et je suis littéralement sous le charme; quel charisme!!!!!! le nom du 1er groupe "madrugada " est un vieux nom espagnol signifiant en gros "le lever très matinal"
Silvert ı love this song it seems like alt country/ dark country melodic parts...am I right? ....thanks
Oui, je ressens la même chose ! J'adore ❤ Son groupe, Madrugada, était excellent aussi !

sounds amazing ) but i didnt get it and want to get )
You didn’t see it in person or you don’t understand the meaning of the lyrics?
@@Sleepy1988 i dont understand what it is about
is it straight? is it metaphor? is it smth else? )
still today took my own sense that suits this music for me
still wonder about authors version
It's about oil.
@@ShadowKayvaan are you the author of this song?
@@books_by_yy Obviously not, it is just my opinion. But it is an opinion I feel is easy to back up. This song was made for the intro of a series called "Occupied", which is partially about oil and energy production. The artist is Norwegian, the show is set in Norway, and Norway has an extensive oil industry. So the lyrics "welcome to the seaside, it's been occupied" I interpret as the coast being "occupied" by oil rigs. "The bounty of the ocean, astronomical amounts" I also interpret as referring to the oil underneath the sea, which ties in with "in the end I always had a cut of every coin", because there's lots of money in the oil business, clearly. And other parts of the song I'm pretty sure is about Norway in general, such as "once you were a seafolk and you sailed across the sea" referring to the Vikings.
