I do have an update: After I denied the first solution of a partial refund of 9€, they surprisingly decided to refund the full amount of the doll. Ok, so you know you have to be persistent^^
Ooh the first guy is cute and beefy! I haven’t yet broken a foot off but I suspect it’s only a matter of time because they really do feel weak. It looks like you were successful in reattaching it but yeah, he may just have to wear loafers from now on. 😐 I’ve also heard that soaking the shoed foot in hot water for a minute could help shoes come off easier. He is definitely fixable, but for now, my frustration is too high for that. Sadly I didn't film when I removed the shoes. Simply because I didn't use a lot of force on it. In my opinion, the ankle was already damaged and I gave it the last push 🥲. I am also not happy about the stress marks. That shouldn't happen so fast on a posable doll like that. For the future, I will stay away from the buffed boys 😅
As soon as I read the title, I had to watch! The exact same thing happened to me! While taking off his shoe, his foot pulled off. I've inboxes over 100 Barbies and that was the 1st time this ever happened. I Sent him straight back to Amazon for a full refund. You should return yours also. You are not the only one.

I don't know, but this wave is generally lacking in terms of quality, I think. I will contact Mattel Creations with some pictures and wait what they'll tell me. I had the exact same issue as you with my first Looks 15 (Karl). Turns out the joint part of her foot was deformed. I ended up getting a new one but I still have my defective Karl. She also had paint from her eyebrow missing. She might be a good candidate for customisation, though.
It is sad to read that there are so many defective dolls out there. I simply wish that there would be better quality control. You are right, even with defects, there is always the option for customization. But Mattel raises their prices and they should at least raise their overall quality as well I think 😑
I really don't like dolls with ankle articulation - I am always terrified of trying to remove their shoes and taking the foot with it. I have also found that the joints on the Looks dolls can be very stiff and I had all kind of problems trying to get the double joints to bend. Apparently if you rinse them under warm water it can help them to bend more easily. You should definitely contact Mattel Creations about this.
Until now, I was not really worried. But now that it happened to me, I will be frightened with every shoe I'll take off 🫠 I have packed him away... out of sight - out of mind, you know 🤣 But tomorrow I will have time to take some pictures for Mattel Creations. Never contacted them, looking forward to their reply^^

no you didn't break him sweetie barbie made him that way, it should be made to break not made to move barbie. one of the 100s of reasons i stopped collecting new barbies.

I really enjoyed getting Fashionistas to put them on mtm, but I won't get any of the new ones. Resin printing and pixelation is one thing, but most of them even have lines like a face screening made by an old printer running out of ink 😂 That is simply too much for me.
That's so bad 😮💨 I never had stress marks on an arm. This is even more visible as on the knees. I just hate things like that... I think the quality control should be better. Thank you for sharing the info 😘
If you gonna get him, I really hope you get a good one 😊 It is a mass produced item, so there are of course flawed ones, but I think the majority is fine... after getting these two boys and looking at their joints, to me it seems that the buffed guys are definitely more problematic in quality than other mtm. A bummer 😮💨

I understand this, my #21 and 23 were soooo stiff. 23 has stress marks at her arm joints.
That's so bad 😮💨 I never had stress marks on an arm. This is even more visible as on the knees. I just hate things like that... I think the quality control should be better.
