- Let's build a Folk Victorian! Also often referred to as a Victorian Farmhouse, these small, simple homes of the Victorian era are found across the states. Traditional homes were adorned with trim and paint to resemble the Queen Anne and Italianate Victorian homes also popular at the time. We are building with the Strangerville pack today but this home could fit into nearly any world in the game.

I like your tips for how to expand the floor plan and for different build mode items that could be substituted if you own different packs. Also, THANK YOU for the ALT 9 tip. My camera kept zipping away every time I tried to raise stuff using the 9 key and I knew there was a way to fix it but couldn’t remember what it was. 🤣
Thank you so much for the feedback! Sometimes I feel like I go overboard with information but also that's kinda the theme of the video 😅
I genuinely enjoy your videos. Some of them I’ve watched more than once and I have to say I also appreciate the level of research you do. My favorite build series, hands down.
Thank you 🥺
I love it when you give little side notes and details about what we could do alternatively when building the houses!
Specific ideas on expansion of the space remain incredibly helpful. Please continue to include 😊
Ok good! I will make sure I keep that going! Thank you :)
Omg!!!! You just helped me with that camera 9 thing I didn't know how to reset it so thank you!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I didn't know for the longest time! Thank goodness for TikTok haha.
thank god the youtube short algorithm introduced me to you!!!! i’ve been trying to find another sim builder to watch, and here you are making historical builds!!! ahhh my lil nerd heart 💛💛
This is definitely a nerd friendly channel 😂
Forever inspired by you! ☺️ I take periodic hiatuses from the Sims (like now), but watching your videos gives me motivation to build! I’ve realized that I’ve been building the styles you make videos on-without knowing the names or history behind them! I also find your videos really therapeutic! Sending love, and I’ll be joining your server soon! 🎉💕
Oh yay! I was also building houses without knowing the names for so long. I'm definitely not an expert, but I'm learning, and love sharing what I find with all of you 💙
You are exactly what I was looking for when it comes to building! I’m so glad I found you. Thank you for being one of the few people who actually explain what you’re doing, why you’re doing, and in a way that easy to understand. Now the only problem I have is that I want to get up and build something new in my world thanks to you lol Definitely worth subscribing and binging your vids. Keep up your amazing work!
Thank you so much! I'm really trying to make videos I wish I'd had when I was first learning how to build, and so far it's paying off shockingly well. I can't believe I've gone from 60 to almost 10k subs in less than a year 🤯 thank you so much for being here, and happy building!
I found your channel through your shorts recently and I've just binged the entire build like a nerd series. I feel so inspired watching your builds, and I've learnt so many tips and tricks, so thank you. I truly love this series, your helpful formulas and attention to detail. You asked for style reccomendations in one of the videos and I thought you might be interested in building a Queenslander. I'm sure there is some interesting history behind how the style was developed, and I reckon the seo from all the Bluey hype can't hurt.
Thank you! I'll add it to the (very long and basically neverending) list. The Bean is obsessed with Bluey right now so I'm sure he'd love that video 😄 I'm so glad you're enjoying the series!
The history. The tips. The attention to detail. 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾. I really like your content. Please keep doing what you are doing. Great job.
Thank you so much! I have no plans on stopping any time soon 😄
I would love to see a guide on Art Nouveau particularly to whatever degree it could be applied to standalone buildings. The image search results seem split between townhouses that seem doable with our tools and standalone buildings that seem significantly less doable.
Ooh, yes! That's a lovely style. The Realm of Magic world is supposed to be Art Nouveau so I'd love to do a video there and either rebuild or build from scratch.
So excited to see strangerville getting some love! It has my favorite build items i think
I just got it recently and I love it! So many amazing doors and windows 🥰
I love all your little notes!!
🥰🥰🥰
Keep the chair rail in the dining room - I never knew that but it makes so much sense! I love your videos for all the information and tips you provide. Thank you!! ❤❤
Alt + 9 to reset when my 9 key sends me zooming away - I had no idea how to fix this and it is so annoying. I was just trying to avoid having to raise anything. Thank you!!!
I love a Victorian, we have a ton around here (in California).
I love the rock garden!
Yay! It's different but I thought it was cool.
love love love all of the build like a geek videos but i have to say fav hands down im on number four now !!!!!!! i tell everyone to watch them
Thank you so much!!!
OMG! I think I've finally figured out the primary style of some of the neighborhoods in my city!
They're everywhere! We went out to eat the other day and passed at least 20 folk Victorians, as well as a good dozen or so Foursquare Craftsman homes and several other 'kit' styles. It's so fun being able to know what the different houses are around you!
Took me a few days but I finally finished this playlist. Truly a joy to watch and I really enjoy learning from you. Congrats on your subscriber milestone!
Thank you so much 🥹 it's been amazing to see these videos do so well, and I'm excited to share some more over the summer 💙
Love the resizing tips, I always try to do an old home and give it a reno! First time in your channel and love how detailed the content is! 😊
Welcome, and thank you for the feedback! I'll definitely keep those in 😁
You’ve convinced me to buy Strangerville! 🥺🥰 I love all of your videos! Thank you so much for your knowledge and special tips 💕
I definitely don't regret it! Thanks for watching, and enjoy the pack 💙
Another great video 🙂
*adds this to the list of house styles I like*
Also, do people put pools up against houses like that? 🤔 I'd personally keep one tile of deck between the pool and house. 🤷♀️😊
I don't know 🤷🏻♀️ now that you mention it it seems weird, but it didn't seem weird at the time. Also sometimes I like having windows from the basement into the pool.
@@sahm_and_bean the basement thing makes sense!!! I'd love a walkout basement with a pool to jump right into! 😆
Yes I'm here ❤
Lol wanted to comment first. First!!!!!
Thank you so much for being here 😁
I was wondering if you might ever want to do an Archbellem style?
Probably. I have quite a list going, and I'll add this one too. The enemy now is time lol
How does your stairs have the solid base underneath? I ask because every time I place stairs, the underside disappears and it’s just empty space. Do you know what I mean?
It depends on the stairs you choose. The first stair is typically walled. Then you can hammer tool the wall if you want to remove. If you want a stair type but it doesn't have the wall, place stairs with wall first then replace with the stair type you actually want. I hope that makes sense. There is a reason I don't make build videos lol
There could be three reasons:
1) The type of stairs you chose doesn't have the wall underneath. This usually happens with the stairs where you can actually see between the steps.
2) Your walls are all the way down. Try putting your walls up, and see if it comes back.
3) "Other" mysterious reason, but in this case you should be able to select a wallpaper swatch and click on sort of the lower side of the steps and that wall should come back.
If none of this helps, I don't know 😬 sorry
