Crazy how times have changed since the 2020 pandemic. You are being asked to pay $14 million to live in a house that is essentially the same “usable size” and price as houses in better more prestigious neighborhoods in Toronto that historically hold their value more than King City (which is too far north to justify the price in any normal market). And the lots may be bigger in King City but completely unusable. 50% of the lot size is on the sides and front of the home which is useless. There are currently 5 new builds in Forest Hill, Glencairn and Thornhill (traditionally more desirable areas than King City which is essentially farmland). Eventually things will revert back to normalcy in the housing market so to hold long term value you should never pay $14 million to live anywhere this far north of the city. Asking to lose your money. THERE IS A REASON THIS HOUSE HAS BEEN SITTING UNSOLD FOR 3YRS

the moment she said "I never took a coffe in my life" I stoped the video who was already akward and crrep by him. That house is in the market for more time then took to put the marble floor itself, and now is cheap, since was 20 Mm then 18, now 14 and going down. How many miilions can you reaaly loose in pricing a mansion for cutting millions like that?
they tried to sell it in the peak but its king city, too far from everything to be that expensive. Id rather buy in woodbridge, National Estates for far less and be much closer to city

If you think living in congested Toronto is a better idea than all the power to you. King City is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the GTA, with some beautiful natural settings. Everything has gone up since the pandemic, and is overpriced. It has become everyone's unfortunate reality.
Dining room up front of the house,too far from kitchen. Should have been a formal living room on one side and an office across the foyer.Edit::: On an on about it being like a resort. Inside pool, close to kitchen. The amount of work to keep it looking so sterile. In the pool area, keeping down mold abs mildew. Might as well be a resort, it will take a full crew to keep it clean. Plus the grounds. Who really needs a house that large,unless you plan on letting a lot of family live with you. Which is really not a wise thing,for most families get to arguing in time, about any little thing.
$7 Million dollars, tops. Don't like sloping walls and many of the rooms too small, especially the bedrooms. 2 acres? Just not worth the money.
The name for this particular "style" of build is called "Pastiche."
It means imitation of the original style of a different era, in an inaccurate way. Usually using cheaper materials, and faux finishes to mimic the look of the original.
But ultimately is just playing pretend. They are easily spotted. As they are almost always in close proximity to other similar homes with little to no wooded areas or natural topographic variations or landscaping involving costly boulders or bodies of water added due to small lot sizes.

Home was presented very well.
If it took 1.5 years just to pick out the placement of some tiles, how come nobody thought about putting the dining room closer to the kitchen. The dining room is right at the front of the house. I expected there to be a little swing door in there connecting it to the kitchen - but no! That means the catering staff have to go from the kitchen, down the hall, down a few steps THEN into the dining room. Makes no sense. Also, why isn't the "gym" next to the pool? Considering the scale and opulence of the home, that was probably the poorest excuse for a home gym I've ever seen. Still, I'd take that house in a heartbeat.
