Aside from the fact that Dingwall basses are incredible, and the fact the Jacob Umansky is just insanely talented, how did you guys get this TONE? Neural DSP Parallax? Darkglass pedals? HOW? Please???
@@codyhansonbass I can tell you what I know. I have an AB1 I use as my mian bass. Playing through my Markbass stack I have a tone that I can't even describe. It has its own "crunch" to it . I don't use pedals or anything. Bass direct to an Eden head, to MB cabs.
Look at the tone video he has made before on the Darkglass channel. Dingwall Canadian made sound better too than the standard ones and his playing is really good, focus, tight and punchy
Just like everyone else i buy something and then i watch reviews after the fact. I love my d roc standard Edit : no one mentions the awesome lightweight back pack case that it comes with
Passive pick Ups mostly in (my experience) Sound a little more “growly “ . I play active dingwall basses and passive ones the passive ones just have that extra grindy tone.
Looking at it, from the RUclips videos I’ve seen -although it has a Stingray punch and a P bass tone -it seems under powered -it doesn’t have enough omph. I guess, I could supplement that with my pedal-board, but it just doesn’t seem to have the power-of maybe a Thunderbird with the Gibson pick ups, in my opinion. And it’s not like you can experience it at your local guitar store. Thanks.
Incredibly edited and filmed. Seamless.
Bass tone has come so far. It is incredible
You'll have to thank Darkglass for that!
Tone is absolutely killing it here!
Thank you for playing the bass. So sick of “reviews” that think they work at The View.
My next bass. I'm hooked since getting my Combustion 5 Indigoburst. Canada represent!
This addiction's only gonna get worse, my friend. My 5th, 6th, & 7th Dingwalls should be here in a few weeks. Don't fight it, just go with it...LOL!
@@pbass6811 lmao that's all i needed to hear
how do you people pay for these??? I gotta start saving man, probably take me 2 years to afford a Dingwall
Some of the best bass tones I've ever heard!

Yes

GAS has been awakened
How is this a jacob umansky video without strobe lights?
haahahah we will ask him
How does it sound without the overdrive and compression?
Same.
Amos Heller has a good review on the standard where he uses clean tones. Middle position is P bass on steroids, essentially.
That was fun man!!!
The only thing tighter than the bass chops is the editing in this video.
It will be mine. Oh, yes. It will be mine.
Does anyone like the d-roc over the likes of the NGs, combustions, afterburners, and Zs?
I sure do because the warmer tone
Hey Sheldon I’d love to try one out for my bands debut show in April ;) 💜 ahaha
That track is 🔥
oh god would i like to see a 6 string one
I think it might spoil the aesthetic on this one. I'd love an active 5 knob one - that would probably screw the aesthetics too, hahaha.
I think the Z shape works better for 6 string.
I don't think it's that kind of bass.
heck the neck-dive, why they make it with the t-bird's patented awful upper fret access?

i ordered a dingwal standard 5 in purple to blue shift now just have to wait :)
How long did you wait?
@@8Junio76 i think it was 15/16 months i got it nov 2023 i ordered in july 2022 i think totally worth the wait
Hello guys. Please reply. The pickups here are FDV correct? Can i order this on their own? Thank you.
its more like an "introduction" not really an actual review I guess right?
Dingwalls are sick but I hate it when ppl call a commercial a review
what are the EQ settings, etc to get this tone ?
I'd imagine since it pairs with Aaron Marshall's tone, you push your mids, keep the lows just below the mids and keep the treble just below the lows.
It's probably Alpha Omega from Darkglass too
@@CheloWiiU I think Umansky uses the Darkglass X7
It sounds like the Middle and Bridge pickup in Parallel
Damn, how can a passive bass have such a growl akin to an active one?
@stefano_ terra It could also be the Darkglass stuff he uses.
Pedals
Passive pick Ups mostly in (my experience)
Sound a little more “growly “ . I play active dingwall basses and passive ones the passive ones just have that extra grindy tone.
2 different pickups to consider too.
These have the vintage sounding soapbars.
The NG2/3 have the modern sound. not a fan of my NG3 in passive.
Its the Darkglass preamp .
How about an active one, guys?
4 min Review!!!! A full review next time, with slap, pick and fingers. sans compression and overdrive. Thanks.
must. stop. tone. chasing. ITS TO HARD
Should. Not. Sell. Ass. For. A. Dingwall. Bass. Should. Not.
Lose the wackass overdrive so we can hear what the bass sounds like It!!
Plays any Dingwall demonstration
Sounds a Darkglass demonstration
