Loaded chunks are not rendered chunks, they are the chunks in simulation distance, which are usually a lot closer to you, so those things you see in the distance would not be kept, instead being converted to 1.18
You can test this by creating a new world in 1.17 version, look around 360 without moving, then quit and update the world to experimental 1.18 version. This proves that just because you can see it, doesn't mean it's been rendered.
I tested this, and only the few chunks around my player were kept, the rest- which were well within view- being converted to 1.18. The 1.18 stuff was an ocean, so my previously loaded chunks became an island, easy to see the difference.
Good video Prowl. In the future I hope you have a chance to cover which farms are going to be broken or nerfed in 1.18 (at least, based on the recent betas) so that we can prioritize which resources to gather before the update.
Best thing to do is go to all the places you want to keep in Minecraft and jot down the cords. then in the top right hand side corner of amulet you can put you cords to jump to them. select all the chunks you want to keep and delete unselected chunks

just a correction to what you said is a loaded chunk, bedrock edition save chunks differently than java, java saves a chunk as soon as its loaded....... however bedrock only save it if the chunk is TICKED/simulated, so chunks outside of you simulation distance since they not process anything/nothing can change they are not SAVED/updated... so if you never travelled to that place, but u can still see it, they are not saved in you world files however if they got ticked atleast once (inside you simulation distance) then its saved. in a simple example, lets say you simulation distance is 12, but you render distance is like 120 (extreme) bedrock will only save the 12 chunks around you, anything else you see will not be saved cause nothing is ticked there nothing can happen/change there.
5:40 so many llamas. There are several open bugs about hidden persistent mobs that accumulate in caves which might make for a good future video. MCPE-60552 and MCPE-125111 cover general cave spawns, and MCPE-102302 covers llamas. These fall in the category of both bugs and parity issues
I found out you don't actually have to convert your world to pc I found a way to pull the files off my phone and put it on a USB drive and then I put it on my computer opened up amulet and it worked. I also found out certain experimental settings will make it so your unable to load the world in amulet . I tested this on Playstation, mobile and pc.

Great Video! Love the new generation around the Ocean Monuments. You have to kill all the Trader Llamas because they just don't Despawn if the Trader dies before they all leave. I kill them even if they are in "safe" zones, just in case. But I do know (I did do the experiments) that the Llamas will leave with the Trader if they all survive to leaving time. But is it worth the risk? The Lag? The Irritation?
I dug out everything under my base just to stop the llamas from piling up. I kept find caves under my base with dozens of llamas packed together. It was crazy!

I don't know if, you are able to run a server you should already be able to figure it out or, it may be helpfull to detail the process. Creating back-ups, downloading and triming (I prefer foxynotail's "prune") and then re-uploading.. could be a minefield with the number of lynux/windows/web, hosted, VM or bare matal server possibilities. I just got java through xbox ultimate and setting up a server has not been as simple as bedrock was. omg those mobs are agressive.

Do you have to have Minecraft on the PC for this to work or can I open the world in amulet from the flash drive? Also I just have a dell laptop, not a serious gaming computer. I completely understand that! Playing on a console it's such a pain in the butt, every time there's a new update I have to go further and further away from my Base!

idk if you know that they changed how lighting works. mobs only spawn in light level 0 now. idk if that helps/hinders your farms but good luck either way
Can someone explain to me what to do if I play on console not pc? Also how come ppl play bedrock on pc? I’d understand if ud just switched to pc and you wanted to carry ur bedrock worlds over but if ur just a pc gamer then u may as well play Java… I’m Jw😊
bedrock is better than java for me much better coded programmed... just missing some small features from java that devs already confirmed will come to bedrock.

What happens to the nether? I have one portal I am not sure where it comes out at but it is right next to a pillage tower. I don't want to lose that.

I hope that's true. I play with a high render distance and I don't want to have to travel out that extra distance to get to newly generated chunks.
Love the video. But I hate the update. Its going to be so hard to build certain farms because of lighting the places up
