Great Info brother, people don't really know what goes into building a true race car vs bolt on parts. Awesome to see!

Thanks! I've been around racing a little bit, and am still shocked by the additional effort and challenges, just to get it running! Let alone racing, not destroying it, keeping it prepped. You definitely need A LOT of passion to get into off road racing.

This is awesome, interested in doing this,do you work with Can Am models? I'm from northwest Iowa.

Jeffrey Nelson Brent w/ American Engineering can also build a CanAm, or you can have a chassis builder (like I did) build it and have Brent turn it into a functioning race car. The X3 would also be a great platform for desert racing

Do the actual math to find out if the stock stator is big enough. That dude was totally guessing.

    • @ChupacabraOffroad

To be fair, we realized we would have to go with a 40" LED Light bar, and going with the Rigid Adapt, which has a pretty big draw, and there's also the math versus the real world. We will make a video about running all of the accessories on the stock stator and see how it goes. Ultimately I wouldn't race the Baja 500/ 1000 or Vegas 2 Reno without an upgrade, but feel an episode might also help non racers as I've met a lot of people that have radios, lights, fresh air, etc and are running out of juice.

I totally get it and upgrading would be a good idea. I’m an electrician by trade and when I hear someone talking about amps, watts and not making sense, I wanna just say come on dude it’s simple ohms law, do the math and find exactly what the numbers are. If he would have said our lighting and loads are running about 560 Watts, which is close to the limit of the stock stator, so we will upgrade the unit. Would have sounded s lot better.
      Awesome project!!

I agree, it could have been worded better. I'm learning myself, and Brent has built a prepped quite a few off road cars, we will get lined up on the final video once it's running (in the next few days). We just got the electrical system going, waiting on a few small parts for the motor and we will provide detailed results of our power draw with all of the accessories. The UTV Racepak also has the ability to assign the power. Many race teams have used the UTV Inc external 75 AMP alternator kit, but it's expensive, in harms way, and requires another belt. We are hoping the alternator out of the RZR Dynamix (with the 900W vs stock 660W) alternator will give is that little extra for the peace of mind. Part of the reason we chose to build a race car was to learn more about the specifics like the electrical system, so we will follow up a with a few videos on the topic.

Thanks for the love! The plan is to not sell any merch, we feel like everyone does it to make a quick buck. We are going to wait and try and build a little more desire and hype, keep things small and exclusive for now. But we are in the process of getting more made for our early customers and people like yourself that want to support us when we are new. Please email us (sales@chupacabraoffroad.com) your size with your address, and it will take another 3-4 weeks. Would love to have some representation in HB, I love that place, and it's were a lot of trends start! I worked for Fox Racing for years and learned how important/ challenging it was to establish as a core surf brand, and of course the California influence, being in Jack's, Sun Diego, etc.
