Another nice video. Thats great that Mike and Michigan put you up for two nights and looks like you had some great meals, I love that you do not slackpack. Great seeing all the small towns that you are going into. Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!!

Always impressed by the genuine helpfulness of the trail community. As Feral says, it restores your faith in humanity.

I think those were soybeans. Mostly we grow corn and soybeans. I’m glad the pups that join you are friendly!

The sign for the eaterys is for the snowmobiles. Some of the trail doubles as a snowmobile trail.

Ginseng and soybeans. Marathon County is known for its production of ginseng. I enjoyed this series.

That first section by the water was really nice. The section with the boardwalk was nice too. ❤

Good point about the small towns. My sense had been that the economic benefits to small towns of becoming "hiker towns" and tapping thru hikers wallets is still a new idea on the Ice Age Trail.

The field that looked like a vineyard was probably ginseng.

That’s so awesome Mike and Michigan hosted you for two nights. That must have felt so good to sleep in a real bed and not eat trail food.

The trail is getting shorter now. Month in and 20 mile days you’ve got to be near 600 miles.
You’ll be done in no time. Safe trails.

I don't get that trail closed for hunting. There's supposed to be no hunting within 100 yards of the trail. Nice family host. Isn't it nice to still meet some kind people these days? You watch the news and you are afraid you'll get shot going to get groceries.

Those might have been potatoes, you are getting into potato country about that part of the trail!

Slack packing is cheating and seriously taints any thru hiking accomplishments. Good for you! I just wish you were equally as stringent about sticking to the red line.
