After the Sayonara Salvatore mission, you can only use a Rhino to visit the area after that mission if you want to stay alive. The shotgun and the M16 were overpowered in that game.
It is also possible, although extremely difficult, to get the bulletproof Cheetah from the Turismo side mission. I know, I managed to do it. It is great zipping around St. Mark's late in the game in the bulletproof Cheetah killing Mafia guys.
I agree, but it's super easy to fix if you're playing a PC version. Open data/handling.cfg with notepad and change value H ("CentreOfMass.z") of "AMBULAN" from 0.3 to -0.1 which would make it behave like the Vice City Ambulance. So it's more player friendly but not completely unrealistic.
Try driving the Landstalker at full speed, and count the number of times it rolls after hitting something. That is the worst vehicle of the 3D era, in my opinion. I dread every time I attempt A Ride in the Park, stupid vehicle flips so easily.
It's also quite unfair for enemies to have the capability to crouch in the fight while your character doesn't have that luxury. I can see some cops crouching in the fight at around 7:57
The most annoying thing imo is how weak the cars are in this game, if you crash just one time the car will start smoking and if crash one or two more time it'll explode
The feature that definitely annoys me the most about 3 are the hostile gangs. I know SA has enemies like Ballas or Vagos but they don’t compare to the Mafia. Those dudes carry shotguns that can destroy your car in 2 shots. It doesn’t help that the guns are so OP in GTA 3. Honestly the ones the griefed me the most were those stupid Triads. I remember trying to do the Paramedics mission and those guys kept ending my run. Whether it was blowing my ambulance up with pistol shots or pulling me out of the vehicle while I was waiting for a patient to get in, resulting in a mission fail. Those guys were the worse. It got so bad, I had to glitch to the second island which still has the Columbians but at least the island is bigger. Also, automatic failures for getting out of the ambulance when there is no way of repairing is complete BS. You can’t replace it, so you have to drive extremely carefully so it doesn’t explode but it goes back to the gangs being complete griefers. I hate the gangs. They make the game unnecessary hard.
See the one thing III does better than any other game is the gangs ironically. They were almost non-existent in Vice City, San Andreas made spectacular use of them by making them a major part of the game and gets 2nd place for that but unfortunately it's possible to wipe out the enemy gangs entirely by playing the game the way they want you to, which is kind of a letdown. IV and V they are completely non-existent, but III never has any group get eliminated (except for the Purple Nines of course) and you can find rival gangs fighting each other on sight, which is awesome. Yes, the Leone mobsters are a death sentence once they become hostile, but honestly they can still be dealt with and fun to do rampages against them if you're smart about how you take them on, as Ray's bullet-proof Patriot is necessary and parking in areas they can't reach on foot will give you vantage points to whack as many of them as you please. The gangs in GTA III really are the complete package.
In GTA 3 there is only one Helicopter that has wings of it moving and it's Catalina's. Also The Police Helicopter. The pretty annoying is You can't crouch although you can see The Police officers, Swat members and FBI crouch.

Well most of these things we hate are possible in GTA San Andreas For the swimming its a bit normal You die in the water so you cannot reach the other island and it "forces" you to complete the missions In GTA SA you can swim but you got 4 stars if you go to the other islands (again because of the missions) Also don't forget that GTA III is a game of the year 2001

The only game that came close before Gta was Driver 2 although the focus was in story missions and not a free roaming and detailed open world. GTA 3 set the standard into living out your fantasies in a non linear manner and for the time in 2001 the game was very realistic.

We all can agree the lll was part of our childhood, cause' never has seen something like it before, but dude, the game was full of timed missions & boat missions that make you don't play them for anger back in the day. I had a PS2 and when I couldn't pass one, I started with another GTA. Like SA, VC, VCS, LCS, you get the point, gotta flip on games for a while to make it fun again lol Anyway was a nice game considering it's almost 20 yrs back when it comes, so was a "boom" in it's day. One thing that really annoys me in Grand Theft Auto 3 is the aiming is very bad like I would try to aim for some of the enemies and they would have an advantage because they will hit me every single time while I'm trying to get a sweet spot to hit them😅
What annoys me is the inability to change Claude's clothes in the game. Thankfully, I can download my own player skin and put it in the skins folder to use, although I would love to see Claude wear something other than the same outfit over and over again.
1. This was my first GTA game that I ever played, and I will admit that it was easy for me to learn the whole map very quickly, so I got lucky. However, missions like Shima for Kenji can be annoying as when we’re on Staunton, we’re used to missions being JUST on staunton, we never know when we have to go back to Portland like on that said mission. and even Espresso-2-Go! you don’t know that there are stalls on other islands. Paying attention to what they say in the mission cutscenes is important, such as S.A.M. which starts on Staunton and Asuka mentions Francis International which we know is on Shoreside Vale. 2. A strange helicopter glitch that I found during the final mission is if you climb onto the damn (using namely a Stinger or Hoods Rumpo XL from the low circular road) you can get close to the helicopter and if you press the enter vehicle button near the helicopter (triangle for me on PS2) Claude will actually walk towards the helicopter, so it IS coded to be a vehicle but there is no door to enter making controlling to impossible 3. At least we have bikes in Liberty City Stories, I know it’s a less popular game only on PSP, but PS2 later and then mobile, but still, if we don’t get it in this game, at least we get to explore this city with bikes in LCS
If u have trouble with the express 2 go mission and get the mafia sentinal. Climb the mountains to salavatores house without getting spotted by the mafia. Once you get the car drive the car down the mountians

What is funny is that there actually is a crouching animation for cops and enemies. They often do it if they are taking fire behind the car, especially cops. Why it was not given to players is beyond me lmao,.
GTA 3 was my first Grand Theft Auto game back on the PlayStation 2. Now for some new blood who's been playing Grand Theft Auto 5 and started to play an older game of the series expecting to have the same features as the modern one. In those days we went by what the game offered until Grand Theft Auto Vice City slowly offered more variety same goes to GTA: San Andreas... not to GTA5 advanced standards obviously. Good times
The fact that the Dodo has clipped wings meaning it's extremely hard to fly. We even see full-wing Dodos on missions, and I would think those would be easier to take off with.
The only way to get a "Easy" Health Pick up is by completing the Paramedic missions,after fully done you will get a adrenaline and Health pick up at all Claude Safe Houses... But good Luck doing this Side mission when the ambulance looks like it's constantly on ice and mostly important...with all gangs shooting at you... Doing Side missions on this game is Almost Mandatory since how much the game tricks a regular player. By the way good thing that in vice city when the player saves the game tommy life is back to 100/150/200
To be the devil's advocate, this game was a whole jump from 2D to 3D. In that year, they were still figuring out how to make work lots of features on a sandbox game... for the PS2!
Well this was the first GTA in 3D so i guess that this was the prototype for 2001 I hate that Claude is unable to high up his health and body armor like Tommy does
For the lack of bikes, I think it's because in GTA 1, bikes were too annoying to use in the top-down look and the janky camera made you constantly crash into stuff, so they were gone in GTA 2. But then, it carried over to GTA III.
Oh, man... It was a kickass when it was released. No one cared about entering helicopters, having motorcycles, swimming, entering anywhere etc, because it was such a HUGE advance from the previous 2D game that everything you felt was "damn, this is mind-blowing!" I didn't even have a though that I have a right to hate anything in this game, except hostility of all gangs and not flying Dodo. You was able to manage hostility in GTA2 by killing other gang members and doing their missions, while in GTA3 they completely removed this mechanics and you may ram as much gang members as you wish with no feedback except the police.
In GTA 3 what i hate the most is the gangs because they are annoying especially Mafia using SG when i tried fighting back those dudes are immune to police and they ganging up on me
i hate that every gang hates you by the end of the game. because it makes waking around impossible in some areas. and in st marks it makes driving impossible without a tank or bulletproof car
First of all, it is an old game and all the things you listed are existing in the newer games with more developed consoles and computers. I want to say that, even if you play the game now in 2022 you still wouldn't be very annoyed by these things. Here is why: 1- Cars stop pretty easily. You never really need to bail immediately (also you would lose hp if you did, and you wouldn't want that). 2- Map is quite small so you don't really ever need the big map. If your mission is on the other island the game always tells you. 3- There isn't any story mission in those areas. Those areas only become dangerous after you finished the missions in those areas. 4- Swimming isn't that much fun in a GTA game anyway 5- Since the map is small you can save the game when you have low health. 6- There are not many unreachable areas in the game so you don't need flying that much. Although it would be fun to fly i have to agree with that. 7- I don't have much to say about this one. 8- Guns are very strong, most of the guns can instakill enemies (You just need to hit a limb or headshot. Some guns don't even need this, they just instakill.). So, you don' really need cover stuff, just get good amount of ammo and nice guns then go into a fight! 9- I accept Claude the way he is :) 10- Camera corrects itself after a couple seconds of driving. In never games i always play with the camera with the mouse. So GTA 3 version of camera might be preferable since its easier, just wait a couple seconds then your camera is fine.
You gotta understand though, that back in the day 2001 there’s certain things the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox couldn’t handle thats why their unavailable like the 360 view and helicopters and restaurants and bikes also the computers they used in those days didn’t have this ability. For example the movie Shrek 2 pus in boots he had a cape one time in the movie when they first met but had to leave it out because it would have been too much animation including all the fur and action in the film. I found this out recently. Again gotta understand that in those days animation can only handle so much.
The most annoying thing in the original gta 3 is the police chase and complicated map, at first it so hard for me to locate the objective but when i play it for a long time, i was able to scour the liberty city. Aside from that, we should also thank the rockstar for making the definitive edition of 3 GTAs, because of that, the players will never get complicated in locating the objective
I always thought GTA 3’s map was confusing and hard to navigate. It poorly communicates to the player whether or not a road is above or below you (the art map).
what annoys me the most about GTA 3 are NPCs with the M16. we all know how insanely overpowered it is and this weapon combined with the AI's aimbot just makes an NPC with this gun absolutely unavoidable
They did have an 'in game map'. That was what the map that came with the game was. 😂 It was the same way with the 2D games. Needed to figure out where a certain place was? Pop out the map! It added another layer to immersion of the game for me. The driving down hill and getting stuck thing is a more of a player error. Leone's getting shotgun makes sense. They are a powerful crime family. The Cartel also get beefer weapons when you kill Catalina.

What annoys me the most about GTA 3? Pretty much everything mentioned in the video. When I heard about the GTA trilogy remaster, the number one thing I was hoping for to be added are the character mechanics and physics from GTA 4, like the cover system and pretty much everything else the trilogy lacks. Unfortunately, the whole remaster turned out to be a joke. I haven’t played it yet but I’ve seen it on YT and heard the reviews. I’m still planning on buying one to try it myself. When I mentioned my wishlist for the ramester in a comment for one of its trailers, one nostalgic fan said it would destroy the classics of the games. Yeah right. Like the og or remaster are any better. I know this will sound crazy, but I do wish and hope they will try and remaster it again. Why? Because those games both need- and deserve a remaster that is actually good and with the mechanics and physics from GTA 4 in order to be a little easier and better. And this time, they need to hire companies that are veterans in remastering games, like Activision and Microsoft. That is, if they want good and successful remasters.
Imagine if someone got ahold of the coding (or whatever it is they use to get access to everything in the game), and left everything the same (the graphics would be nice to update, but not all beggars can be choosers), but modernized certain things; such as improvements and changes on what was mentioned in this video.

What I hate about GTA 3 is that Claude does not speak for unknown reasons, and the dodo flies but its hard to fly it to make it stay in the air. The plane lacks wings and its unflyable. I know that cool games can have bad qualities.
The reason Claude doesn't speak is because at this point in the series, all previous gta player characters have been silent. Claude was just continuing that tradition. In a lot of old games (going back to the arcades) the player characters were almost always silent. Claude is supposed to be you, the player.
I was lucky to have a map of LC in the case of GTA 3 when I was younger. I think every copy had a paper map of Liberty City. Also isn't there lore about not swimming due to the water is polluted?

They mean that you're making complaints about the game as if the technology at the time had any sort of capacity to have these features as you'd see in later and more advanced GTA games. The remastered versions haven't even got these features but I understand where you're coming from.

No bikes and motorcycle’s ? Actually I read lcs manual book it turns out that bikes and motorcycles were banned in liberty city three years before gta 3 event because of concern of violence and they think its too dangerous it got banned by politicians. Thats why rockstar retconned it on purpose 😂
All the gangs trying to kill us in the end is although annoying, makes sense because our character was playing on all sides. He did missions for almost all gangs 😅 and the Colombians hated him because of catalina. So yeah while the game is good, this crap is annoying. There should be a feature where we could start our own gang. Mute gang 😂. But they put that feature in Sanandreas, so it's all good.
Rockstar games can easily solve saints mark problem by adding a gta sa features. Mafia & Triads run towards ur vehicle to jack u, then start firing. Plz remove the SHOTGUN from mafia.

1. This was my first GTA game that I ever played, and I will admit that it was easy for me to learn the whole map very quickly, so I got lucky. However, missions like Shima for Kenji can be annoying as when we’re on Staunton, we’re used to missions being JUST on staunton, we never know when we have to go back to Portland like on that said mission. and even Espresso-2-Go! you don’t know that there are stalls on other islands. Paying attention to what they say in the mission cutscenes is important, such as S.A.M. which starts on Staunton and Asuka mentions Francis International which we know is on Shoreside Vale.
2. A strange helicopter glitch that I found during the final mission is if you climb onto the damn (using namely a Stinger or Hoods Rumpo XL from the low circular road) you can get close to the helicopter and if you press the enter vehicle button near the helicopter (triangle for me on PS2) Claude will actually walk towards the helicopter, so it IS coded to be a vehicle but there is no door to enter making controlling to impossible
3. At least we have bikes in Liberty City Stories, I know it’s a less popular game only on PSP, but PS2 later and then mobile, but still, if we don’t get it in this game, at least we get to explore this city with bikes in LCS
My problems in GTA 3 was flying the Dodo plane in mobile. Sometimes, i'd just crash into the ocean and die

If u have trouble with the express 2 go mission and get the mafia sentinal. Climb the mountains to salavatores house without getting spotted by the mafia. Once you get the car drive the car down the mountians

What is funny is that there actually is a crouching animation for cops and enemies. They often do it if they are taking fire behind the car, especially cops. Why it was not given to players is beyond me lmao,.
GTA 3 was my first Grand Theft Auto game back on the PlayStation 2. Now for some new blood who's been playing Grand Theft Auto 5 and started to play an older game of the series expecting to have the same features as the modern one.
In those days we went by what the game offered until Grand Theft Auto Vice City slowly offered more variety same goes to GTA: San Andreas... not to GTA5 advanced standards obviously. Good times
Cops only go after the player in this game. If an NPC attacks, they wouldn't do anything.
The fact that the Dodo has clipped wings meaning it's extremely hard to fly. We even see full-wing Dodos on missions, and I would think those would be easier to take off with.
Dodo was never even meant to fly. It's literally technically a car.

A couple of these have been addressed in the Switch’s Definitive version thankfully. We have bikes and a pause map.
Claude is badass, he don't need to hide nor crouch.
The only way to get a "Easy" Health Pick up is by completing the Paramedic missions,after fully done you will get a adrenaline and Health pick up at all Claude Safe Houses...
But good Luck doing this Side mission when the ambulance looks like it's constantly on ice and mostly important...with all gangs shooting at you...
Doing Side missions on this game is Almost Mandatory since how much the game tricks a regular player.
By the way good thing that in vice city when the player saves the game tommy life is back to 100/150/200
To be the devil's advocate, this game was a whole jump from 2D to 3D. In that year, they were still figuring out how to make work lots of features on a sandbox game... for the PS2!
Well this was the first GTA in 3D so i guess that this was the prototype for 2001 I hate that Claude is unable to high up his health and body armor like Tommy does
For the lack of bikes, I think it's because in GTA 1, bikes were too annoying to use in the top-down look and the janky camera made you constantly crash into stuff, so they were gone in GTA 2. But then, it carried over to GTA III.

The mobile version of the game has a map and in the mobile version you can rotate the camera in the car.
They did introduce these features on mobile, but it was too late 🙁
Oh, man... It was a kickass when it was released. No one cared about entering helicopters, having motorcycles, swimming, entering anywhere etc, because it was such a HUGE advance from the previous 2D game that everything you felt was "damn, this is mind-blowing!" I didn't even have a though that I have a right to hate anything in this game, except hostility of all gangs and not flying Dodo. You was able to manage hostility in GTA2 by killing other gang members and doing their missions, while in GTA3 they completely removed this mechanics and you may ram as much gang members as you wish with no feedback except the police.
In GTA 3 what i hate the most is the gangs because they are annoying especially Mafia using SG when i tried fighting back those dudes are immune to police and they ganging up on me

i hate that every gang hates you by the end of the game. because it makes waking around impossible in some areas. and in st marks it makes driving impossible without a tank or bulletproof car
First of all, it is an old game and all the things you listed are existing in the newer games with more developed consoles and computers. I want to say that, even if you play the game now in 2022 you still wouldn't be very annoyed by these things. Here is why:
1- Cars stop pretty easily. You never really need to bail immediately (also you would lose hp if you did, and you wouldn't want that).
2- Map is quite small so you don't really ever need the big map. If your mission is on the other island the game always tells you.
3- There isn't any story mission in those areas. Those areas only become dangerous after you finished the missions in those areas.
4- Swimming isn't that much fun in a GTA game anyway
5- Since the map is small you can save the game when you have low health.
6- There are not many unreachable areas in the game so you don't need flying that much. Although it would be fun to fly i have to agree with that.
7- I don't have much to say about this one.
8- Guns are very strong, most of the guns can instakill enemies (You just need to hit a limb or headshot. Some guns don't even need this, they just instakill.). So, you don' really need cover stuff, just get good amount of ammo and nice guns then go into a fight!
9- I accept Claude the way he is :)
10- Camera corrects itself after a couple seconds of driving. In never games i always play with the camera with the mouse. So GTA 3 version of camera might be preferable since its easier, just wait a couple seconds then your camera is fine.
You gotta understand though, that back in the day 2001 there’s certain things the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox couldn’t handle thats why their unavailable like the 360 view and helicopters and restaurants and bikes also the computers they used in those days didn’t have this ability. For example the movie Shrek 2 pus in boots he had a cape one time in the movie when they first met but had to leave it out because it would have been too much animation including all the fur and action in the film. I found this out recently. Again gotta understand that in those days animation can only handle so much.

The most annoying thing in the original gta 3 is the police chase and complicated map, at first it so hard for me to locate the objective but when i play it for a long time, i was able to scour the liberty city. Aside from that, we should also thank the rockstar for making the definitive edition of 3 GTAs, because of that, the players will never get complicated in locating the objective

I always thought GTA 3’s map was confusing and hard to navigate. It poorly communicates to the player whether or not a road is above or below you (the art map).
On IOS, you can’t adjust the drive by shooting buttons. So either, my finger wastes sub machine gun ammo or accidentally change the radio station.

Also same with LCS I can’t even enter any restaurant for restore health

what annoys me the most about GTA 3 are NPCs with the M16. we all know how insanely overpowered it is and this weapon combined with the AI's aimbot just makes an NPC with this gun absolutely unavoidable
They did have an 'in game map'. That was what the map that came with the game was. 😂 It was the same way with the 2D games. Needed to figure out where a certain place was? Pop out the map! It added another layer to immersion of the game for me.
The driving down hill and getting stuck thing is a more of a player error.
Leone's getting shotgun makes sense. They are a powerful crime family. The Cartel also get beefer weapons when you kill Catalina.

What annoys me the most about GTA 3? Pretty much everything mentioned in the video.
When I heard about the GTA trilogy remaster, the number one thing I was hoping for to be added are the character mechanics and physics from GTA 4, like the cover system and pretty much everything else the trilogy lacks.
Unfortunately, the whole remaster turned out to be a joke. I haven’t played it yet but I’ve seen it on YT and heard the reviews. I’m still planning on buying one to try it myself.
When I mentioned my wishlist for the ramester in a comment for one of its trailers, one nostalgic fan said it would destroy the classics of the games. Yeah right. Like the og or remaster are any better.
I know this will sound crazy, but I do wish and hope they will try and remaster it again. Why? Because those games both need- and deserve a remaster that is actually good and with the mechanics and physics from GTA 4 in order to be a little easier and better.
And this time, they need to hire companies that are veterans in remastering games, like Activision and Microsoft. That is, if they want good and successful remasters.
Imagine if someone got ahold of the coding (or whatever it is they use to get access to everything in the game), and left everything the same (the graphics would be nice to update, but not all beggars can be choosers), but modernized certain things; such as improvements and changes on what was mentioned in this video.

The difficulty of this game and VC was overboard. As a child I can’t imagine how I beat any of the games I owned on PS2. Today I’m quick to quit and walk tf away lol
What I hate about GTA 3 is that Claude does not speak for unknown reasons, and the dodo flies but its hard to fly it to make it stay in the air. The plane lacks wings and its unflyable. I know that cool games can have bad qualities.
The reason Claude doesn't speak is because at this point in the series, all previous gta player characters have been silent. Claude was just continuing that tradition. In a lot of old games (going back to the arcades) the player characters were almost always silent. Claude is supposed to be you, the player.
I was lucky to have a map of LC in the case of GTA 3 when I was younger. I think every copy had a paper map of Liberty City. Also isn't there lore about not swimming due to the water is polluted?
Rockstar created those trash lores as an excuse for lazy programming

In my opinion, GTA 3 aged bad like milk, but in the release date, it was revolutionary. But now this days, aged bad.
All the gangs trying to kill us in the end is although annoying, makes sense because our character was playing on all sides. He did missions for almost all gangs 😅 and the Colombians hated him because of catalina. So yeah while the game is good, this crap is annoying. There should be a feature where we could start our own gang. Mute gang 😂. But they put that feature in Sanandreas, so it's all good.

Rockstar games can easily solve saints mark problem by adding a gta sa features. Mafia & Triads run towards ur vehicle to jack u, then start firing. Plz remove the SHOTGUN from mafia.
