Hi Psyche, this is a great song, absolutely beautiful. Whitney really makes this song live. Every time I hear this, I just can't help myself thinking of Whitneys life and her journey in the music world and publicity. I watched quite recently Kevin Costners speech at the funeral of Whitney. It touched m e and made me think. It feels so unfair, how this world is "wasting" all those highly talented persons. First you are unknown, found and brought to publicity. Your career is skyrocketing. Until as so many times, too many times, everything collapses. Does it really have to be that way? It happens in everywhere, not for everyone, but for too many. So many talented persons have been gone. For me this song is like a farewell song from Whitney on the behalf of all those beautiful people deceased too early. Well, this comment became a sad one, but it's my honest thought how I feel about this song. Anyway, have a bright and enjoyable day.

And Whitney did her song justice much to Dolly's sheer delight and gratitude that someone executed her song perfectly and to a worldwide audience. Kevin Costner was the one who chose it and David Foster wasnt keen on the accapella start. Would you belive 'What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted' was in the running? A great song but not the right song, so Kevin chose well. But it was all pure genius.A match made in absolute heaven. This is an excellent example of 2 people's work from different eras turning into platinum Gold. 🌹

hope you got paid for the dolly input. this is the only song in the history of the entire world where a no hit wonder, dolly have people stalking the internet to tell people she allegedly wrote the song.
