Just seen this and you are amazing !!!! I never even thought to research other artists when it comes to painting on shoes. I was home sick and saw my old white slip on classic vans and I had recently seen some customs online buying some green vans , and also went to the Beyond Van Gogh art show and I took one of the shoes and did my best version of a starry night, then because I am a bit odd and my brain is weird I thought well another famous painting on the other would be different, so I did my impressionist version of Monet’s water lilies with fabric markers. I never thought to use the water proofer so I’m glad I found this today!!! And you art is amazing beautiful and a bit intimidating !lol. Just stunning work. My next challenge for myself is to pick up a cheap pair of them fake vans from five below and attempt The Scream 😱 painting 🖼!! Hoping for the best !! :).
So, there is no prepping a new fabric/canvas pair? Cool. And, the repellant spray doesn't _yellow_ the whiteness over time? New sub here about to paint her first pair

The pair you painted in this video came out so good that I just know using what I have will NOT turn out looking good at all 😂. Where do you get the paint and medium from? I am not a good artist so I don’t draw reliably. I want to customize my low top Adidas shoes with a team crest. Is there a good/easy way to print out a template to scale? What type of material would you use for a template?
I can’t find those brands locally and shipping costs more than the paint! Is it just leather paint and you can use it whether the shoe is leather or canvas?
When i started i did a lot for free, just to build up my portfolio and then slowly started getting work with friends and family! It’s a slow process for sure
This is great! We use to do this on our converse or pro keds in the 70s. Im still a fan and love Vans too.😁

Hey, i want to custom my shoes but i only custom the outsole part using board marker. Which finisher tool do i have to use?
What paint do you use if you have to paint the rubber taping on the sides (the rubber strip that joins the sole to the upper)?

Do you prep your shoes? I've heard some say that paint don't stick to cloth i jus want to make sure the paint won't crack when I do my own pair.
Personally i don’t prep my vans. I just use the paint i mentioned 🙌🏻

for the suade, do you use a suade brush between coats for the knapp?
Ouuffff you may wanna do a lot of research when it comes to suede lol, that's one of the hardest things to paint, clean, etc
do you not use acetone on the shoes before painting like you do with normal leather shoes
Acetone is used for leather yes, if it's canvas or soft material like sock liner (inside of most shoes) you don't need acetone
