I did sit in the front row. The last seat On the right. It was a beautiful experience because The speaker was directly in front of me, so I basically got An uninterrupted concert. With nothing between me and music/show. Was actually surprised I was able to get such a great seat through the student rush. One of my most cherished memories. Both Patti and Christine were also very kind at the stage door afterwards. I don't get your rude comment.
She is truly a legend, never to be forgotten. I’m a big fan of Christine and really would have jumped over the moon if I got a chance to see this wonderful musical but that isn’t so. Instead I listen to the soundtrack everyday and Pink is one of my favorite songs. I do also watch Steven Universe and I’m aware of her and Patti’s appearance as characters and don’t see it as an insult to their careers just because it’s a cartoon...they decided to take up the roles, they could have said no but they didn’t.
I remember seeing this show and wanted to walk out after the first act. This song single-handedly turned my perception of the show 180- I was in love. Christine Ebersole's heart-wrenching rendition took my breath away. A peak performance, flawless in every way.
I literally hope one day I can be at a QUARTER of her talent and ability as an actor. Just pure passion and poise in her whole performance is astounding and just enamors me to no end.
Fortunate to have seen this live. She held “pink” especially long and emotionally. The entire house was in tears.
She makes me so emotional. I honestly want to cry. Such a talented woman, her voice is so powerful yet graceful. Such talent!! Imagine meeting her! One of the few people in this world that I genuinely admire.
Remember going to this show to see Patti Lupone but this number was the one that crushed my heart

Half of this comment section is SU. I know Christine is the VA for White Diamond, (and yes, I'm excited about it too), but it seems a bit offensive to her legendary career to only label her as the VA of a cartoon character.
Jacob DePalma thanks for clarification. I’d never heard of that character before until it kept popping up here. She is a legend and definitely deserves better attention than that.

And we live in this marvelous RUclips age where we can catch a glimpse of them live onstage. I saw La La Lupone in Evita pre-Broadway in SF. Talk about staggering! She was on fire! If only there was RUclips footage from that! I know that there's Broadway stuff of her as Eva and I love it but something about that San Francisco run. But I'm being greedy because so much of her work has been captured on RUclips.

Some people, though, (myself included) discovered Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole through Steven Universe. Whether we're making jokes, witty comments, or just compliments about their work in Steven Universe, we're not shortchanging them, their talent, or their careers. Of course, they're not *only* Yellow Diamond and White Diamond, just like they're not *only* Helena Rubenstein and Elizabeth Arden or other characters they've played over the years. They're actresses, and people are complimenting them. They're not necessarily "only labeling them as VAs."

That was a great show and it should have swept the Tony's. Saw it prebroadway in chicago and I had to see it when it was on Broadway. I love the ending to this, "I never even liked the color"

Great musical! Closed way too soon. I was lucky enough to see it prebroadway in a smaller theater in Chicago and then in NYC after it opened. Christine and Patti wee amazing. I still laugh at what Patti said when she said she wouldn't perform if Trump came to see it LOL. I love the last line of the song that she never even liked the color

When I review films versus stage, I think that stage acting is far more entertaining; I am way more mesmerized by live (obviously) stage acting!
From what I see, and what I read, she is a treasure! I certainly hope her stage-side matter is such, because I know for a fact that her brother’s was not to be treasured!

Why do people laugh at "I never even liked the color?" It isn't funny! It's pathetic and sad.
Well at first it seems like a funny line, she sings a whole song about the color and in the end reveals she hates it. But after that you realize that the color that she's been using on her entire life and career is a color that she didn't even like, than it makes you sad.
That's the whole point. It's funny because it's sad and ridiculous that a woman would dedicate her entire life to trademarking a color she doesn't like. Besides, it's obvious she's saying it because she's bitter about it all. She doesn't actually dislike the color.

When I saw your comment for the first time, I was a little angry, but I wholeheartedly agree. Christine Ebersole did great as White Diamond, but she has so many other wonderful roles she has played and shouldn't only be recognized/defined by one.
