Has the original audio been modified or replaced to prevent copyright strikes or did they unknowingly investigate a cover because the recording they are analysing isn't the beach boys.

For anyone curious, this is part a song called "Good Vibes", recorded by Willy William Ft. Dynasty The King & Richie Loop and released in 2021 by Scorpio Music out of Paris, France. What I can figure out from watching the official video for "Good Vibes" is that rather than actually sampling "Good Vibrations", they decided to make a cover of it and then use it for their sampling. The finished product is more of a Reggae/Hip Hop style song. I can imagine getting permission to sample the original "Good Vibrations" would have been complicated, and maybe impossible, since the copyright may have belonged to Irving Azoff by then. At any rate, it's unfortunate that you guys were duped, but I love this channel and am looking forward to more videos.

It's an electro-theremin. Similar to a theremin, but played with your finger on a horizontal slider bar that you match your position to a print of piano keys above it, rather than waving your hands.near it.

I enjoy videos like this, but they really should’ve been honest about the fact that they’re analyzing a cover version. From the very first “I…” it was obvious that was NOT Carl Wilson’s voice.

@@RonnieDee2323 The only passable cover I know of Good Vibrations is Todd Rundgren's version. But what you analyzed here doesn't sound quite like Rundgren to me. I wonder if you got a remastered Beach Boys' version somehow.

Is this attempt at a prank...? Writing things like "Drummer: Drummer Hal Blaine" when it's a much newer cover version by an entirely different band? Seems a little too "Haha, let's see if we can get away with this" to me.

The constant joking and talking distract from the effort of the analysis. Everyone is interrupting each other and talking over each other. Two people in the studio is enough. Theramin was used according to Beach Boy interviews.

Yeah, I suspect it's their attempt at a prank. Trying to see if they could get away with it without anybody noticing, then having a good laugh about it. Obviously that didn't work, as people are pretty familiar with the real version.
