I love my MAC7200, it does everything and can be upgraded for future DAC technology. For those that laugh at FM, there are a lot of cool college radio stations with commercial free music.
I hope you get to to review the next models up in Mc's integrated's line, such as the MA8950 and the holy grail MA12000. I ended up upgrading to the 352 based off your previous review and I'm really happy with the performance and sound :)
I own this baby with MVP891 as my media player and also the Bluesound Node 2i on the Polk Audio RTA12b monitors..the soundstage is out of this world.. im saving to buy the MT5 turntable..do you have any recommendation to maybe change the streamer?..not that i think i need an upgrade..
Im surprise to hear you say that the michi is slightly warmer and smoother than the Mac. I have always tought the Macs to be a little slow and warmer then most especially compared an amp thats quite neutral with lots of energy like the Michi??
Does it have anyway to crossover the sub to the mains if you want to limit the low frequencies doing to the mains? Should you have to resort to a miniDSP or something in that case?
I just double-checked with the store and they said you have to manage the subwoofer at the sub. I use Rel Subs so everything is managed via the subwoofers.
@@TheSourceAVDesignGroup I think that would still give me very good sound but I’ve been thinking that you could probably use a miniDSP Flex with digital outputs as a crossover between the streamer and the DAC. I guess the added bonus is you would have PEQ and see if that improves anything. That would require another DAC, just for the subwoofers but that could probably be a Modi or other low cost DAC. Not sure but it might work. I’m using a Rythmic 15 currently. For the HT bypass, it would already be crossed over in the processor so that wouldn’t be a problem.
Thanks for posting this video. I am considering the McIntosh MA9500 Integrated Amplifier. Do you or your viewers have any experience with this model of Mc solid state amplifier? Thanks Again!
Never been the greatest fan. It's probably the coolest looking equipment EVER … but that's about it. I've seen too many problems and failures, and too many dealers who wash their hands of you when the problems do come. If I'm dropping $20,000+ I want to know that the guy who sold it too me has got my back.
Been playing my MAC7200 just about everyday for the last 2 years. No problems so far. If I could change two things on it, it would be: 1. Two balanced inputs instead of one. 2. Front knobs that had some weight to them and didn’t feel kinda cheap. That last one isn’t that big of a deal though. It would have been nice though. Besides that, I love it. Speakers are JBL HDI-3800.
@@hatfieldjimi If you love it, and it's working, then enjoy. Personally, I can't sleep at night knowing there are demonstrably far better choices sonically, for a lot less of my hard-earned, which is why I don't buy commercial speakers, at any price level. However, I witnessed the frustration and hassle of trying to get a Mc amp fixed when they do break, and it's not something I would want to go through.
All manufacturers have some percentage of issues needing repair. McIntosh having a less than 1% while the industry finds 3% acceptable. If you had a bad experience you should seek out a better dealer that maintains a higher standard of Customer Service

@davidmnml6881 thank you! Glad you are enjoying the 352; it's an excellent integrated hybrid!
Now this is a nice amp! The meters are lovely, low power consumption, even though it costs $10,000 it is worth it!

@jacquesmcintyre4184 not the MAC7200 when compared to the Michi X3.
Can you review the Michi X5 on your Nova V?
