- Mom cat gave birth to kittens. This is her first birth and she is not very good at taking care of the babies. We noticed that she doesn't lick them at all. Because of this, babies have tummy problems. We really hope that the mother cat will understand how she takes care of newborn kittens.

Owner please assist the mommy with the babies and place them according to where the nipples are at. As we see they need guidance from an adult that is present. It's the responsibility of the owner to step in with a baby bottle and assist along the journey if the mommy is not feeling well.

I looked carefully. The first kitten pushed away was the darker orange litter. At the second feeding shot that particular kitten was first at the milk bar andvthe lighter colored orange kitten was pushed out. This mom does not like being crawled over. She rejects any kitten that is crawling on her or others to find a place. Owner should help out by placing kittens so they latch and do not compete annoying mom.
Exactly Helen. The video should show the owner HELPING the kitten who is being pushed away to latch onto a nipple.
I agree with both of you BUT she may be a first time mom and be overwhelmed with all 4 kittens at once. She isn't rejecting just 1, so I think they will just have to take turns.
I think she's pushing the orange one so that it goes to the end, where there is a free nipple. There is nothing at Mummy's head.

Does the video say that the breeder won't let the kitten starve? No. The baby was hungry & the breeder didn't do anything. It's very hard to watch a baby needing to be fed & the mother won't feed it & the breeder isn't picking the baby up to feed it. What are we supposed to think? If they're going to put these videos on here they should make that clear.

Естественный отбор!!! Выживает сильнейший!!!
Мы думаем что одна из причин- короткая морда. Может ей физиологически неудобно вылизывать котят. Искусственно выведенные породы не имеют уже тех инстинктов, что дворовые кошки

It's not unusual for new mom cat's to do this. As long as she's feeding them good, instinct for the rest should kick in the next few days. Coax her a little if you can.

I wonder what was the issue here why the mom cat kept pushing this one kitten away from feeding? He didn't appear deformed. This usually is the case if the mom feels the kitten may not grow properly to defend himself later in life, then it would be better off to allow him to perish by cutting off his nourishment supply. I really would like to know the reason for her refusing him feedings.

There are instinctual reasons the mother is pushing away 2 kittens. We don’t know why. I wish someone in animal behavior would speculate about it. Most of the commenters don’t understand correctly the importance of the mother’s behavior.

It looks like she was bred that way. The flat face is preferred in cat shows....and they are more susceptible to sinus infection.

С этими котятами должно быть всё в порядке. Хуже, когда кошка сразу после рождения, отбрасывает кого-нибудь из них. Это говорит о том, что котёнок не жилец. Так было и с нашей Лялей. Родила двоих - котика и кошечку. Котиком сразу же занялась, а кошечку отбрасывала, отодвигала, отворачивалась от неё. Часа через три кошечка умерла.
Кошки это чувствуют.
