Never knew that they replaced the WCH Type 3 E-bell on this side with a Safetran Type 2. But I did know that the MP 8.3 high-wide detector next to this crossing was removed, but a new DD at MP 22.6 was put into service at the same time it was removed in May.
Yes. About the bell, the WCH Type 3 electronic bell on the crossing's south gated signal was replaced with the current NEG/Safetran Type 2 electronic bell in 2023. And about the high wide detector, or the "bridge" structure that looks like a railroad signal bridge with a camera or detector, it did get removed around May 2024, possibly all in anticipation for the Montebello Boulevard grade separation project. The railroad tracks will most likely get temporarily moved around in the later years, the moment the main bridge structure gets constructed.
@@socalquietzone You would have to film a Metrolink train at the Greenwood Avenue railroad crossing, from the north side of the tracks next to the north gated signal with the "lazy" slow e-bell.
Great video!
Thanks for the appreciation!
Nice one! Love hearing that classic P2 horn!
Agreed, gotta enjoy them while they're still around.

Yea, that seems a bit odd to push it out that far.

Little did you know, the bell on the opposite gated crossing signal (WCH 1.5 electronic bell) is dying, ringing at a very slow speed.
Yea, couldn't tell from everything that was going on at the time but now that you mention it, maybe it's time for a revisit.
