A dude in our club was riding ktm 2 strokes for years then bought the 2020 sherco 300 2stroke and was waaaaay faster. He is the only dude around here with one. If I was gonna go 2 stroke again, it would be my 1st pick

Ah Ha! I am finally able to identify one of the areas where Kyle is riding. I have my own shot of the same mountain seen in this video at the 2:32 minute mark. I rode this area this June after the Black Dog Dual Sport ride over in Oregon. Very nice area to ride in Utah. Multiple skill levels available. We got into it and wound up over on the more challenging 039 trail. Keeping the actual location to myself for now.
This giveaway has perfect timing. I needed straps anyway... Because mine broke last weekend and my 2001 KX 125 fell off the trailer at 85mph messed my bike up pretty bad. So I could use a new bike and straps 🙂. Not to mention the Sherco is my dream bike. Good luck to everyone.

I made the switch back in 2018, glad I did before California outlawed new 2-strokes.

Update on my 2022 KTM 300 XC TPI which I bought new over 1 year ago.
I trail ride on terrain similar to what Kyle rides.
The KTM ran like crap from day 1.
Dealers could not fix it.
At 7.2 hours it seized.
KTM put and covered the $ for a new piston, cylinder & crank in it. I paid the labour. The bike was ~6 months old.
I got it back with 7.4 hours on it. Started it and let it idle 45 seconds then rode it 1st , 2nd & 3rd gear per KTM & dealer. it seized again still showing 7.4 hours!
This time KTM 100% covered putting a new crate motor & a new oil injection pump in it.
Got it back with 9.2 hours on it and finally it runs correct. Huge difference.
Would I ever buy another KTM? Not sure. Wasted 1 year not being able to ride.
2 thumbs up to the dealer & KTM for not giving up on it.
I like the new 2023 with the fuel injection moved to the throttle body area, TBI which is where it should be in my opinion.

Hi how does the sherco fuel consumption compare to the KTM tpi👍
It suffers a bit because you lose fuel out of the overflow tubes just like most carbureted bikes, especially with stock carbs. It's one of the main reasons that the EFI bikes (2 stroke and 4 stroke) typically get better mileage. Fuel consumption on these bike varies WIDELY due to how the carb is tuned though. It also really depends on the terrain.
I’ve got a 22 Sherco 300 SE Factory with a Smart Carb and a 23 Husky TE 300i. The Sherco has a half gallon bigger tank and will go at least as far as my TPI bike, maybe a bit farther. Properly tuned the Smart Carb is better on fuel than the stock Keihin carb, plus it does a good job of compensating for elevation and temperature changes. It’s pricey though, $700. Works well but I’m not sure I would spend the extra cash if I were doing it over again.

@@pokeyman2003 definitely do they really are great. They are however different. I think people are so used to KTM that they think it’s the same . It’s not . There are weird oddities like the fuel tap location or how you get the air filter out that are different for example and people go “ Sherco sucks “
They are just so used to KTM like a Chevy truck guy trying a Ford lol if that makes sense. They are both great just different.
We have so many good options out there and I can find reasons that each one of these bikes are amazing in their element.
