  • Testing the TPS SENSOR can be complicated if you do not know certain details about its values.
There are many questions about whether the sensor is useful if it measures 5 kilo ohms, 6 kilo ohms, 8 kilo ohms or 10 kilo ohms.
To know if the TPS sensor is in good condition, we must first find the highest value between 2 of its terminals.
Then we must find what the cursor terminal is and it must measure 20% FROM THE GROUND TERMINAL.
Then we move the axis with a tool such as a large flat screwdriver, and it should rise little by little until reaching the maximum value that we measured previously.
For example, we find a TPS sensor that marks 6.4 KILO OHMs as the highest value between 2 of its terminals, so between the ground terminal and the cursor it must mark 20% of 6.4 kilo ohms, that is, 1.28 kilo ohms.
The same rule applies to any other TPS sensor of a different value.
The video shows this application to 2 TPS sensors of different values.
