- One year ago, I bought a spotted turtle, and I could not have imagined it being such an amazing endeavor. In this video, I'll recap the entire journey, from building the plywood aquarium, recreating her natural habbitat (North American wetlands) to adding Koa and much more! Insane that you don’t have more subscribers. You should get another turtle or two and start growing them in a different tank so when it’s time to upgrade to a bigger tank they’re about the same size
Thank you!! I really apriciate that. Getting another turtle might be a good Idea. Although they are not that easy to come by here in the Netherlands. I am looking online and at expos.

The enclosure looks very cool! Didnt know you could use osb3 for wet exhibits like this! Also nice to see a dutch reptile/herp youtuber❤
Thanks! The osb was an experiment, but in theory it is a better surface for the liquid rubber so I just gave it a try and for now it’s working really well. Haven’t seen anyone use it in a similar setup tho
@@CrunchyFern yeah me neither. Thats why i find your take so interesting because it makes a terrarium thats both insulated and waterproof
@@CrunchyFern you should definately make a paludarium for like a chinisaurus crocodilurus
@@lightfurysketches5271 that's true, but also keep in mind that you have to make sure your tank is properly sealed. If this thing starts leaking the osb boards will imediatly start to soak up water and expand. which is probably why I haven't seen others try this.

May know what type of sand did you use in your turtle tank??
Just basic playsand. The cheap stuff you can get at any hardware store. Just make sure to rinse it before use
May I ask where you bought Koa?
I bought her from a local breeder. They’re pretty hard to find and I had to spend months to finally get a hold on one. I recommend searching on instagram for #spottedturtle and # your local area.
