Damn, those elephants were fer real! Crazy. I guess they're used to the vehicles? Seems like they could just squish one of those tuk-tuks in one stomp. Luckily you survived to tell the tale.
Yea man!! Wild elephants are no joke! I think they're used to people feeding them so that's why they some near the road. But driving past in a small tuktuk was definitely intimidating! Those animals are not small.

In Peru, we have a lot. But maybe there's something that doesn't work at all (laws or permissions). Because when there are car accidents. This tuk tuk breaks into pieces like an egg and people die. I can drive one by the way. A friend of mine taught me so. It's a lot of fun

I always used the reverse when backing, I didn't wanna be the foreigner who didn't know how to use the reverse on the tuk 😅

How much to rent it per day, week etc, any credit card or cash deposit, insurance& deductablity etc, how many max people, how far u can go away from Colombo, late night between cities drive safe there? Thank you for any info

You may know this, actually the name tuk-tuk came from the sound it made when it came with 2 stroke petrol engines.
But now it comes with a 4 stroke engine but the famous TUK TUK name goes on...!!!

I grew up on standard transmissions. Nothing hard about unless your going up a steep hill and have to stop. Wow those elephants and one was real close. That would have freaked me out. Nice video.
Yea it was all fun and games until I hit the steep mountain roads haha but the tuktuk I had was in great condition and handled those hills like a champ.

Well I found your video by googling how to drive a tuk-tuk. The reason I need to know this is because my wife and I have just moved to Siargao in the Philippines and you really need to have your own transportation. So I am buying a second hand tuk_tuk. Mixed emotions.
